2021.1 Reintroduces Fixed Problems
Devs, I'm seeing old (and new) problems under 2021.1 (15.1.0.10100) that had previously been fixed, namely inability to select export format unless I make the whole program window very small. Then we have a new issue of having to re-select the import location each time to stop ON1 creating subdirectories in weird places. Otherwise extremely happy with ON1. Currently I'm not.

Oh, and not all retouches are exported to the jpeg either... :(

I am unable to duplicate the two issues you mention in your original post. I'm using the latest version of 2021 on Mac Big Sur. As you can see from the screenshot, I have On1 in full screen mode and am able to switch file type using the pulldown. The destination location has defaulted to the one last used, ie Desktop.
With regard to your second post, I have not noticed any differences when exporting, but I might not have been looking hard enough. You'd need to specify what is not being exported to see if others can duplicate the issue and then it would need to be reported to Support.

inability to select export format I reported this too when I was running on my MacBook Pro. I found that if I clicked exactly above the upper right point on the V I could pull up the menu. When I migrated to the new M1 Mini the problem went away even though I was running a literal copy of the software from the laptop (I restored from a backup rather than installing from scratch) so it appears to be something that is system dependent.
My guess is that by minimizing the right side column you are also minimizing the area in which the target point for registering the click can appear making it easier for you to hit it.

re-select the import location each time Which Save to option are you using? I set it to Current Folder and my exports always show up there. Be aware that if you have the Show Sub-Folder Contents option turned on in the Browser and the image you are exporting is in a sub-folder the exported image gets placed in the selected parent folder.
Another option is to create an Exports folder and set that for the location so every export ends up in the same place. The downside is you then have to move to that folder to check the export.

I appreciate your taking the time to reply Ray, but it doesn't really help me any to inform me that you can't reproduce my Windows errors on your Mac.
The export issue I mentioned in the second post had to do with a Retouch: Clone Stamp correction not making it to the exported jpeg. I'd used the Clone Stamp tool to remove a twig from in front of an owl's face. I could only get this correction into the exported file when I used the File: Quick Export function in Edit, but not when using the Export function from either the Edit or Browse modules. In the latter the twig was still there.

Brian, the problem appears to be that the drop-down menu can't open if the window is full screen or too close to the bottom of the screen.
When it's like this, I can select my export options:
When it's this close to the bottom of the screen or in full-screen mode, I can't access the export presets:

And regarding the import issue, previously the import location would stay as Windows:/user/Pictures. Now it reverts to the last folder I imported to and there it creates a new year/month/day folder set
Generating this each time:

It could be a Windows issue. On my Mac it shows up properly wherever I place the bottom of the program's window. Maybe we can get another Windows user to give it a try.

The Import issue could also be Windows specific. On my Mac it has always shown the last location I imported to unless I choose Current Browse Location. That is my default setting. I go ahead and use the Browser to create the folder I where I want the new photos to be imported. Open that folder in the Browser and the Import dialog is already to go as far as where. I still have to set the Backup and other options of course.

Mike, Regarding the export presets issue. I cannot recreate your issue on my on my Win 10 machine. I can see export presets regardless of window size. The drop down adjusts for me. In the top image below with window far away from the task bar the drop down drops all the way down. In the center image it moves up so the bottom of the dropdown is touching the task bar and last image it goes up when window is maximized.
Can't comment on your import issue since I never use the import function.

Mike, have you tried deleting your settings? That should reset all the program state settings and it could clear up this problem.

The program isn't supposed to be hidden behind the taskbar. It might be a Windows issue as opposed to On1 as I've seen other programs do that too. What you might try if Delete Settings doesn't help is to use F11 Full-screen mode which hides the taskbar.

Mike,
I have the same problem with the lower taskbar on Win10 having a 4k monitor running. My task bar is in automatic hide mode. From another forum I found a tip that could help: Go to the task manager - find Windows Explorer Entry in the list of running stuff - make a right click and force a restart of the process. Once done, and provided you are using the same mode setting of the taskbar On1 Export button is accessible again.
Hope it helps
Matthias

I'm not aware that we're talking about a hi-res monitor here, but if that's the case, this article may apply...

Hi Rick,
thanks for reminding me on that one. I tried it some time ago without success, and then found the article discribed above, which worked. I'll give it a try again, because in my case either the Windows version as well as On1 Version were updated recently.

So I gave Ricks hint another try. Unfortunately it's not working. The taskbar always hides the lower portion of the program screen. Restarting the explorer via Taskmanger helps.

If restarting explorer helps, that would imply an issue with Windows.
An alternative suggestions,
1 Move the Task Bar to either the left or right side of the screen. Side benefit, this location takes up less screen space.
2 Try Auto hiding the taskbar.

Hi David,
I gave also that hint a try, but without success either. It shows the same effect now on the side. My taskbar is in autohide mode normally. (See my comment to Mike above). But it is not a Problem of On1, as other programs have the same. Windows is probably not providing the right value, to enable other apps to calaculate the remaining free space correctly.

Hi folks, a couple of replies from me.
Settings have been deleted - no effect.
Explorer not currently running.
As I suggested in the OP, these things were working fine before the latest update.
I've changed the DPI settings as suggested. No effect.
Thanks anyway.

Mike, the explorer.exe that Jen-Matthais is talking about restarting is not the same thing as Windows File Explorer. Explorer.exe is a program manager process that provides the graphical interface you use to interact with most of Windows. It is always running on a Windows machine.

I am on WIndows 10 and don't seem to have a problem with Export presets with v2021.1 (15.1.0.10100) as the presets pop up above the bottom of the screen. I would advise you to rise a support request.

Windows Explorer restart did not help.

Mike, just to clarify one thing. In your original post you say "Devs, I'm seeing old" I haven't picked up on anyone clarifying this in earlier responses to you so, just so you know if you don't already, this is a user forum and On1 developers or support rarely see these posts. As others have said you should submit a support ticket. Click the "Submit a request" field at the bottom of this page.

Be sure to read this article on how to submit a support request. It explains how to include log files that helps them figure out what's going on.
