Sharpness after exporting
AnsweredAfter editing a picture I exported it in different ways. I last tried exporting to JPG in Adobe RGB, 100% quality, no indication of sharpening, no resizing. Colors are ± correct but the the sharpness is a catastrophe.
I can send a print-screen of both together on the same screen.

Have you checked the sharpen button is not selected in export?

It was not selected. I was looking to make the export as simple as possible.

can you screenshot your export panel?
and are you exporting from effects?

Is the left side image the exported jpeg and the right the finished RAW file?
Are you wanting more or less sharpness in the exported image?

I want the same sharpness in the exported image.

Are you wanting more sharpness or less? I do not know what you mean by "the same". I'm not trying to be a jerk, I just need some clarity. 😀

Are you exporting from effects rather than the browser and have you looked at both images in ON1 rather than 2 viewing panels - are they different still?

When I'm working on a picture in the app, and I find that the result on the screen is what I want, then I also expect that when I'm exporting it into a Jpg it has the same look so I can share it with friends. The picture editing is not only to have the raw and the on1 file on the hdd but also to show it in clubs of social media.

Are you exporting from effects rather than the browser??????

We understand all that Henri. You keep repeating the same thing without answering our questions.
Is the exported jpeg not sharp enough or is it too sharp? Because jpegs use a lossy compression algorithm you can expect there to be some loss of sharpness. This is why the program allows you to add sharpening during exporting.
Are you exporting from effects rather than the browser?????? You can expect better results by returning to the Browser before doing the export. When you return to the Browser all your edits get flushed from the program's Scratch space and written to the edits database and the .on1 sidecar file. That ensures the exporter has all the latest edits to work with.

I tried from both effects and browser. I tought that trying to do it from browser after clicking on "done" would save all to the hdd.

Yes, it does. Now do you want the exported image to be more or less sharp than what the program is giving you?

I tried again from the browser. Selecting image type high detail and sharpening for screen. And this is giving a satisfactory result.

sorted - you need to remember the settings as when you export you need to export them for what you need - and lack of sharpening for screen and high detail is obviously where it went wrong - glad you sorted it.

Brian, I don't want it sharper or less sharp than what the program is giving. I want the just the same.

Good to see you got it solved.
