There are some known issues with running on the M1 Macs. I don't know if this is one of them but I do have a brand new build with some fixes I can test with if you want to provide me with one of your RAF files. Upload it to a web sharing service such as Dropbox or WeTransfer and post the download link here.

Or, you can report it to support and see what they have to say.

    Thanks for your response, Brian.

I have reported it and there are bug issues with 2021.5. It was suggested that I return to the previous version. I appreciate the feedback.

Yes I am having big issues with this as well. At one point I thought it was a corrupted file as it would crash when I tried to crop it. It was just a jpeg from my iPhone XR as well which was puzzling. Now I realise it's happening with more than one file. Frustrating. Will try and roll back one version and see if I can and if it helps.

You should be able to reinstall 2021.1 overtop of the .5 update as long as you still have the installer for it.

There are fixes for the .5 coming soon. I was constantly crashing too and yesterday I received a beta update which has cleared all my crashing so far. I ran the program non-stop for several hours yesterday.

Thanks, Brian. I don't need to do any editing over the next few days (I hope!) so will wait as I don't have the installer for 2021.1.

I'm having the same problem with the new version of ON1 Photo RAW on Mac Big Sur. Every time I click on the crop tool it's crushing.

I hope the fix will come soon.

Same here. Hope the fix comes soon. I'm using an M1 Mac Mini. I think I can delay editing  for a short period of time.

I lodged a report on this and Support sent me the links for 2021.1.
They may be useful for you guys too. I hope these are general links rather than a customised one just for me.  :-D

    Here's the Mac version:

Forgot to copy the Windows one too but if anyone needs it let me know and I'll go back to my report and copy that from there.

I am a Windows 10 User, so I realise that this is not terribly helpful to Apple M1 Users. But, two points:
    (1) On Windows 10, PR 2021.5 seems to have crash issues when using Layers. So, it is not just M1 Users who are having problems; and
    (2) I always keep an old copy of Photo Raw installed on my PC. Yes, I have deleted PR 2019 and older, (got to free up some space), but I still have a copy of PR 2020 available to use in an emergency. And it is still faultless.
However, although PR 2021.5 has some crash issues, I am continuing to use it. As on my PC it does not crash every time that I use layers. So, provided that I remember to keep saving the 'ON1 files' by returning to Browse. Then when PR 2021.5 does crash, I have not lost much. Then I can restart PR 2021.5 and with luck complete the Layers work and export a decent result. So, I guess that is a third point..
    (3) Get into the habit of frequently saving those ON1 files. It costs you a little time, but saves you loads of editing time when compared to a crash wiping out all of your hard work.
Unlike Brian I don't get the Betas, but I would guess that it won't be long before the bugs are cleaned out of the code.
    Have fun David Price
