    1) If you purchase the lifetime version of the program now you will not get the NoNoise AI plug-in. It will be integrated into Photo RAW for the 2022 upgrade which you will also have to purchase.

    2) The Mobile app is free.

    3) Right now you have to save the denoised photo to a new file to be edited in Photo RAW. This will change when the 2022 upgrade is released in the Fall. At that point you'll be able to do everything inside Photo RAW.

    4) The Cloud Sync service allows you to sync your Presets and settings across multiple devices. It also allows you to edit a photo that has been published to a synced Album on any device, mobile, desktop, or laptop. You can start on one device and continue on another device. Not all of Photo RAW's features are available in the Mobile app so you don't have as much control with it. If you own a NAS it is up to you to decide if that is a feature you still want to use.

Photo RAW does not use a library model like Apple Photos or Lightroom. It is a file browser, just like the Windows Explorer or Finder only it is customized for working with photos. You can navigate to any folder in your file structure but the program will only show you the image files at that location. It does have a Catalog feature which is something like a Library in that it allows you to search through locations other than just the currently viewed folder. The use of Catalogs is optional. You can create a Catalog for any folder you choose which will include all of that folder's sub-folders as well. If one of those Catalogs is offline that is just fine. You just can't search through it until you bring it online for the program to see.

    If it were me:

I'd play around with NoNoise as a plug-on for the trial period and also download a trial of Photo Raw 2021. I'd then wait until the autumn and purchase Photo Raw 2022 when it comes out, since NoNoise will then be integrated.

Whether you purchase it outright or go for the subscription model is up to you. I am not sure there is much of a saving to be had getting the subscription. I upgraded from PR v2020 but rather regretted it as it didn't offer me what I really wanted (a really good slideshow module). I am also unlikely to upgrade to v2022, unless it offers something other than NoNoise. That's because I already have Topaz DeNoise and am more than happy with it.

    About subscriptions...

If you buy Photo Raw (lifetime), then that version is yours for life whether you want to pay to upgrade to the next version or not.

If you subscribe to Photo Raw you will get automatic yearly upgrades as long as the subscription is active, but if you cancel the subscription then all software stops working and you won't be able to use it after that.

Ray, it's already been stated that NoNoise will not be the only new feature in 2022. You'll have to wait to see what it includes.

Thanks everyone for your help. I might subscribe on the monthly payment until the next version comes out, then decide whether to continue on the monthly model, or to buy a perpetual license.
