Catalog folders

I recently had to re-install On1, so consequently I have no cataloged folders, which amongst other things makes searching very difficult.

How do I recall and install my previous catalog in order to avoid having to re-catalog my entire library of images?

  Brian, You can't recall a catalog you have to create the catalog again.

  If you have a backup of your C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\ON1 folder you can try restoring it. Otherwise you have to recreate it again. See Recovering from lost edits event for more info and instructions.

  Hmm...
  Very confused.

  I thought that without a catalog I would lose all my edits, but this does not seem to be the case, all my edits are in place.

  The edits are also stored in the .on1 sidecar files. This is how it is possible to transfer an image with its edits between different machines.

  Catalogs do not store the edits. They are a database that cross references the metadata so you can search for images in more than just the currently displayed folder.
