Photo RAW is supposed to be a Universal app in the next release as I understand it. This implies that all the plug-ins will be Universal too. I know that they are working on it.

I hope that is a fact.   Do not remember any public statement by Dan or others on it.   The sooner the porting the better for all parties.

I read something about it recently but I couldn't remember where to provide the link.

Hi, in the tech specs of the on1 homepage its not clearly stated if the M1 processor of Apple is supported natively for ON1 Photo Raw 2022 or via rosetta 2 emulator. Does somebody know where to find the official statement?

    Thanks
    Gerald

    Great answers

Not official statement but On1 2022 is listed as a Universal app on my system report and is going very well on my new M1 iMac. The release notes at https://on1help.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/4409689897613-ON1-PHOTO-RAW-2022-Release-Notes-and-Download- say running native, scroll down past the patch release part. So that is the official statement.

2022 plugins based on same code as full On1 so will also be native. Plus On1 have stated that there will be a free upgrade to 2021 which will also be native.

Thanks David sharing this link. Could be more transparent because not noted in tech specs on Homepage.

Install PR 2022.   In Finder select the app and do a right click and select Get Info.

You wil see Kind: Application (Universal).     You want Universal instead of (intel).   Then it can run native on Apple Silicon.

It is clearly listed in the tech specs on the main page for the program.
