Who did you talk to at ON1. You should ask Kahlie in Customer Service. The tech support folks may not know about the pricing or special offers.

I too was baffled both by the price and currency discrepancy (I live in Mexico so the bundle is priced in MXN).

I raised the issue on the other thread but no one had any ideas. However, I have since noticed that on my early bird offer there's mention of an upgrade just of Pure Raw for about 1,700MXN (85USD). This is crossed-through, but is in line with last year's upgrade price, if you take into account owner discount and any coupons that can be used.

My guess/hope is that this will be offered when 2022 is released. If I am wrong, then I probably won't upgrade, since I already own Luminar 4 (for sky replacement) and Topaz Denoise AI.

If I'm not mistaken, the Subscription offer includes the cloud but NOT the Plugin Bundle, while the other offers include the Bundle and not the cloud.

A basic Photo Raw upgrade offer for current users hasn't been announced yet.

I agree with Rick.  The offers currently available do NOT include just a simple upgrade to 2022 PR with no extras.  The posted products include either the subscription or the bundle.

I also agree that the listing is horribly confusing, and it's looks intentionally deceptive.  It's like they want to trick people into a more expensive upgrade package before releasing the one that most people want.  They don't even mention that there will be a simple upgrade available.

@Brian It was Kahlie who responded in the first instance to my original email.  The question wasn't answered, just the difference between a perpetual licence and a subscription which I already knew.

I'm so pleased to see that I am not completely stupid and that others are also confused by the Earlybird offer.

According to the FAQ for the $89 Subscription

“Subscribing to Photo RAW is an excellent choice both feature-wise and economically. Subscribers will get Photo RAW 2022 (as well as the currently available version 2021) plus all future Photo RAW upgrades automatically, all future ON1 plugins and individual standalones not included with the Photo RAW 2022 license, ON1 Cloud Sync for syncing edits, presets, settings, and metadata across multiple computers and mobile devices, and the Autumn Creative Collection of bonuses”

I am assuming that “all future On1 plugins and individual standalones….” means the Professional Plugin package is included as part of the Subscription. If this is the case, a Subscription seems like a much better deal for folks who routinely upgrade annually.

However, like everyone else here, I find the Early Bird offer unnecessarily confusing and just sent my questions to Support.

Also, what happens if you decide to stop a subscription? Would it be like Lightroom and you lose access to the application completely?

  • John Gallagher

I omitted part of the FAQ.

Here is the remainder: “You'll never have to manually purchase any upgrade again. Cancel any time while retaining access to all your photos.”

I think it’s clear that if you stop paying for the Subscription you lose your access to the programs, plugins, etc.

Yes, if you cancel your subscription all the software stops working.

    Brian.

Can you clarify whether the Subscription includes the Professional Plugin bundle and future updates of same? Everyone is trying to decide which offer to take considering the fact that these have been newly segregated from the main package.

I have a Support request in for this clarification but wonder if I’ll get a reply before 9/1.

From what I've seen it looks like you can subscribe to Photo RAW which includes the plug-ins, or purchase the program license with the plug-in bundle and a subscription to Plus, or purchase the program license with the plug-in bundle but no Plus subscription.

If you subscribe, as long as you maintain your subscription you will receive all updates to the software.

    Thanks for your reply Brian.

Did you see my earlier post quoting the FAQ for the Subscription model? Isn’t the language saying that the Professional Plugins are part of the $89 Subscription? It specifies that plugins and standalones not part of the main program are included. This was from the FAQ you can find when you go to the Early Bird page rather than the current pre-2022 description.

It is pretty clear that this Early Bird announcement along with the removal of plugins from the main package has completely confused folks.

Yes, that's how I read it too. Sorry. I've corrected my statement above, thanks. It isn't as clear as it could be, that's for sure.

I just tested a purchase of a Subscription without completing it. It does show that the Autumn Collection is included free but does not show what’s included in the Subscription itself. I’m wary of buying the Subscription and then finding I do not get the Professional Plugins. I’m obviously not alone.

I agree, while the promo for the Subscription doesn't mention the Prof pkg, the FAQ says it includes " all future ON1 plugins and individual standalones not included with the Photo RAW 2022 license"

So, my statement above appears to be incorrect and now I'm confused again!

Hopefully someone will get a definitive answer from On1 Support and post it here. Or even better, On1 will clarify everything on the Early Bird web page. Meanwhile I’m holding on to my money.

These discussions happen EVERY year about this time.

I wish ON1 would create a table that shows what is included with each package ( like many other products do ) vs just a text description.

Also, for those who are writing ON1 tech support is the wrong department to ask. It should go to Customer Support. Tech will forward it to Kahlie but you're just increasing the wait time for your response. Send your questions to the department that is best able to answer.

I am only guessing, but when I look at my early bird offer I see a price of $1,706MXN for On1 PR 2022 on its own. This is around $84USD and might exclude any current user and/or coupon discount.

I have ON1 360, which has just renewed. I have PhotoRAW 2020. It looks like if I take the subscription offer for 2021/22 I will pay for 360 again? If I don’t, and just keep buying the perpetual license when I choose to upgrade, presumably I can keep subscribing to 360 (aka cloud sync) as well? What would I lose, the plug-ins, presets and training? Does anyone know for sure?🤔

Pat, you need to narrow that question down. I can't tell what you want to do.

    According to the FAQ,

When Photo RAW 2022 becomes available in September, the option will be available to order without the plugins and individual standalone apps in the Professional Plugin Bundle, without the complete Autumn Creative Collection of bonuses, and without ON1 Plus.

OK Rick, thanks. I’m just confused by the options I guess; better wait and see what the next offers are.

Here is the answer I received from Kahlie at Marketing Support:

ON1 Photo RAW subscribers will get ON1 Photo RAW 2021 and ON1 NoNoise AI 2021 now, plus all future Photo RAW upgrades automatically, all future ON1 plugins and individual standalone apps not included with the Photo RAW 2022 license, ON1 Cloud Sync for syncing edits, presets, settings, and metadata across multiple computers and mobile devices, and the Autumn Creative Collection of bonuses.

The ON1 Photo RAW 2022 Ultimate Upgrade is a one-time purchase (not a subscription) and includes:

    • ON1 Photo RAW 2022 Upgrade (perpetual license)
    • ON1 Professional Plugin Bundle 2022 (All 5 newly updated ON1 plugins & standalone apps for 2022 including NoNoise, Resize, Effects, Portrait, and HDR)
    • ON1 Autumn Brush Collection
    • ON1 Autumn Texture Collection
    • ON1 Golden Hour LUT Collection
    • ON1 Autumn Preset Collection
    • ON1 Autumn Sky Collection

The advantage of the ON1 Photo RAW subscription is that you always stay current with the latest versions of ON1 software and have access to the Cloud Sync storage service. ON1 Photo RAW subscribers also have access to the new ON1 NoNoise AI 2021 application.

The advantage of the ON1 Photo RAW 2022 Ultimate Upgrade is that this is a one-time purchase, and the programs you purchase are yours to keep forever. You receive a perpetual license for ON1 Photo RAW 2022 and the future ON1 Professional Plugin Bundle 2022. For more information please see: What is a Lifetime or Perpetual License?

However, if you purchase the ON1 Photo RAW subscription, you will only have access to the software as long as your subscription is active. If you cancel the subscription, you will no longer have access to the software.

Please let us know if we can be of any further assistance. We're happy to help.

    Kahlie | Marketing Manager

I am one of the original 'Grandfathered ON1 Plus Members', I bought a copy of ON1 NoNoise AI, and it is simply great. I personally am not too worried about missing out on Cloud, (particularly as my PC does not seem to have enough power to run catalogues).

My question is, when my ON1 Plus payment is paid in September, do I still get my copy of PR 2022, with a perpetual licence, or is the 'Early Bird offer' a signal that something has changed?

    Best wishes David Price.

You should ask Kahlie in Customer Service for a definitive answer from the company but as far as I know the Plus Pro members will still receive the Photo RAW 2022 program when it is released. Whether or not that will include the plug-ins I don't know but I doubt it.

As I understand it all that has changed is that the plug-ins are no longer included with the program as they have been up until now. From here on if you want the plug-ins they have to be purchased separately or bundled together as a collection. The early bird special seems to be an offer to get both the program and plug-ins for a discount price.

    Hi Brian

I will look forward to PR 2022, when it is ready to be released.  In the meantime my copies of PR 2021 and NoNoise are working very well indeed.

    Best wishes David Price

Just wrote to customer service as well  :) Perhaps they can realize that the email was very confusing for us who use the program.

As an on1 Plus member, I didn't wanted to pay for something and then realize that I made a mistake!!!! Next point would be, if you pay for No Noise, you would then have to pay for the ON1 with No Noise capabilities inside the program? So that's kind of paying double for it.

The On1 Plus subscription is not mentioned in the Early bird offer, so at least for me this was very, very confusing. I don't need the storage, I prefer my personal storage at home, yet it would be useful to know what is the relationship with On1 Plus and all the plugins etc.By the way I do agree that the subsription mode with all the plugins is quite cheap against the other offer. In fact the sub is even cheaper than Adobe's if you just want Photoshop and LR.... just my thoughts.

    Best wishes for the community!

Daniela, did you read the posts above? Every single one of your concerns has already been answered but here goes again.

Plus has absolutely nothing to do with the software. Subscribing to Plus gives you access to the Plus Forums, and additional training videos and free materials that non-plus members don't see. That is all.

Yes, if you purchase the NoNoise AI plug-in now you will also have to purchase the 2022 Upgrade if you want that built-in ability along with all the other new features they've been previewing.

The company is separating the sales of the plug-ins from the sales of the program itself which includes all the capabilities of the various plug-ins. They are offering this deal to some of their users, but not all, for those who are interested in having both the Photo RAW 2022 program and the plug-ins with their individual stand-alone programs.

For what it's worth. I mistakenly ordered the 2022 Ultimate Bundle a couple of weeks ago thinking it was the standard upgrade. I emailed support yesterday morning and was refunded in the afternoon. Needless to say, I just pre-ordered the $79.99 upgrade. Great customer service if you ask me!

Here is Kahlie’s response to the plug in issue.

However, moving forward, ON1 Photo RAW 2022 will no longer provide plug-in support for third-party apps such as Photoshop, Lightroom, Affinity Photo, etc. To use the plug-ins, you will be required to purchase the ON1 Professional Plugin Bundle, which includes 5 apps: ON1 Effects, ON1 HDR, ON1 NoNoise AI, ON1 Portrait AI, and ON1 Resize. We are currently offering a product called "The ON1 Photo RAW 2022 Ultimate Upgrade" which includes both ON1 Photo RAW 2022 and the 2022 Professional Plugin Bundle

    ===================

For those of us who came onboard many years ago when Perfect suite was a great plugin option to Lightroom and Photoshop, this 2022 “upgrade” is actually a downgrade.  We are now supposed to pay for an upgrade which does not contain the same essential features as the prior version unless we pay more for plugins.  If I wanted to do that I would use Topaz plugin products.  In fact that is the way I might go and save money along the way.  I just find it hard to pay for an upgrade which doesnot have like for like functionality.  After all that is the basics of an upgrade.
