Search all photos?
An option, in advanced search, says: search all photos (beyond cataloged folders and current photos).
what does this mean? I haven't found anything in the manual, and this search brings nothing.
Am I missing something here? thank you

I'm not sure of the difference between Search All Photos and Search Cataloged Folders. As you've noted the User Guide doesn't even mention that option. What I do know is to search beyond the currently selected folder requires the use of Catalogs.
You might want to ask tech support to explain the differences.

This confused me, too. As far as I can tell, Search all Photos just searches the currently open folder.

On the blog post announcing 2022 there was a comment that there will be a significant free upgrade to 2022 at some point. One of the new things coming is improved searching and filtering. I wonder if Search All Photos is linked to this and has escaped early?

That has been in there for several years now. I'm thinking it could be another vestigial appendage?
