Can't get PR2022 to recognise any plugins

Does it have multiple plug-in files for the 1 program? So far as I've seen in my testing Photo RAW 2022 only supports those that are packaged in a single plug-in file. I've got Topaz Sharpen AI, DeNoise AI, & Gigapixel. Sharpen & DeNoise each have a single .plugin file (I'm on a Mac) and Gigapixel has several. Only Sharpen & DeNoise are recognized by 2022. I haven't found any way to get the program to recognize those with multiple files.

You can ask tech support for a more definitive answer.

As far as I see in the Topaz Studio 2 folder structure, it has a PS_Plugins and a PS_Plugins_x64 folder, each with a single tltopazstudio2ps.8bf or tltopazstudio2ps_x64.8bf respectively. I've tried copying the x64 file into PR2022's default folder, and when that failed, added the non x64 file, reloading after each.
I'll send a report to support, thanks

I've cleared out the folder and just added one *.8bf file and it now recognises TS2. Looks like I'll just need to add the other *.8bf files I had hoped to add one at a time, and see what breaks it.

Scott Davenport has a video on YouTube that goes through setting Preferences for 2022 and how to get it to recognize plug-ins. You can tell the program where they are or you can move them to the PhotoshopPlugins folder in your user data for ON1.

    C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\ON1\ON1 PhotoRAW 2022\PhotoshopPlugins

    Here's what mine looks like.

Thanks, I can see the folder OK but it's loading it up with the *.8bf plugin files that I have been having problems with. I have managed to add a few Topaz modules now one-by-one, but if I try to add such files from other software (e.g. Xara) which came with a handful of free PS plugins, PR2022 doesn't even show the Topaz filters that are there too - it's as if it coming across a plugin it doesn't like, it ignores them all, good or otherwise. I've found one such error in the log file: "Failed loading filters from plugin: C:\Users\pbrea\AppData\Roaming\ON1\ON1 Photo RAW 2022\PhotoshopPlugins\Craquelure3d.8bf Error 193". Removing that filter and reloading reveals all the Topaz plugins again.
Invalidating all plugins just seems to be a clumsy way of dealing with one invalid plug in. I'll submit a report anyway

I collected all my plugin files here and all are recognized by ON1 Photo RAW 2022 after an app restart. Via 'Preferences' I simply told ON1 to look for them at this location. Note that Topaz GigaPixel AI cannot be used as it changes the size of the photo and that cannot happen when using it as a plugin.

You’re fortunate in that PR2022 didn’t have an issue with any of those *.8bf files. When I put an admittedly really old *.8bf file that I got goodness knows how long ago as part of another graphics software package into PR2022’s plug-in folder, it failed to recognise the ones that it previously did and tells me there are no plugins installed. Removing that old plug-in and reloading PR2022 restored access to the others.

Pete, you might want to pass that .8bf file to support to give to the engineers so they can have the program ignore those older incompatible versions instead of trying to load them and causing problems for everything that comes after them.

Just closed my pc down, but will do that in the morning. Good idea, thanks.

Be sure to tell them you know they don't work and you're not asking for a solution and that you wanted the engineers to take a look at them for that purpose. Otherwise they will probably default into trouble-shooting mode or an outright those won't work response. I'm sure they're swamped.

As a retired IT professional, I go out of my way to explain the issue when formally submitting a bug report, but despite that they did misread it and also missed the fact that I had already attached the log file on my query - sure signs of being swamped.

I did get a response though: “We have created a bug ticket for the problem and will be working to fix this issue in a future update. We will be working to release a patch update to address bugs discovered with our initial release asap.”
