Cloud Sync
Apologies in advance bit of a long post...
OK so I'll probably get On1 2022, but am considering a Sub to get the cloud Sync functionality but couple of questions around workflow and if I revert to standalone? here's the scenario:
I've got a MacBook Air M1 for mobile use and iMac at home for bulk of work, assume no phone/iPad use for the purposes of this Q?
I snap on DSLR and copy off to external SSD connected to MacBook.
Start my workflow on the MacBook out in the field, convert to Adobe DNG, add in some EXIF/Metadata (my Std EXIF template, location, some keywords) perhaps do some rating and such. Perhaps even a bit of lightweight editing.
The folder the images above are saved to is set to 'Cloud Sync', so when I get home the folder, images it contains with added metadata and edits are all now on the HD of my iMac.
So now to save space on the portable SSD (its only a small drive) I'll remove Cloud Sync from the folder on the portable SSD and delete the folder.
Questions???
1)In this scenario above will the images still be on the hard disk of my desktop iMac?
2) If I decide to cancel the Sub and revert to Std paid for licence will the images moved above still be on the HD of the iMac?

When you sync a folder its contents are sent to the cloud in a compressed format. If you want the images from that folder to be available permanently on another device you have to download it to that device. If you remove the sync from a folder without downloading its contents first those images will only be available to the device that uploaded them. The same applies to synced Albums.
For the workflow you've described I would be sure to upload the original files when you Sync the folder, it's an option when you apply the sync or add new images to a synced folder. When you get back to the desktop be sure to download them to that machine. Now the sync can be removed and the files will be on both the laptop and desktop. You can safely delete them from the laptop to recover the space. If you decide to cancel your subscription to Cloud Sync you'll be covered.

Many thanks Brian, super swift response and top advice as always.
Not sure Cloud Sync will be helpful given my workflow, could be recepie for confusion as to where original files are and what's been uploaded/downloaded. If the Cloud Sync is just a month by month commitment might give it a go for a month but at moment stand alone might suit me better.
Thanks again.

I'm pretty sure you can subscribe to Cloud Sync separately from purchasing the program. If you subscribe to the program then Cloud Sync gets thrown in for "free". It used to be that way, things might have changed. You can ask Kahlie in Customer Service to get a definitive answer.
