ON1 Photo Raw 2022 Plugins Separate??
Hello, Can someone fill me in on the 5 plugins being separate? So if I don't add the 5 plugins at purchase I can't use ON1 with lightroom or Photoshop. Example edit in the select the on1 module?

Yeah, thanks I see. Well, not quite the same workflow as working with ON1 plugins as I have pictured. It figures as now that I am mainly using ON1 as a plugin for Lightroom and photoshop they decide to remove them.

That's correct, Photo Raw no longer works as a plugin (however, you can use 'Send To' to send a photo to Photo Raw.
The plugin feature is now only available in the plugin series.
If you always use plugins, you might want to switch from Photo Raw to the Prof plugins. If you need both, then you'd either have to buy both or if you have a subscription you automatically get the plugins for free.

Thanks, Rick Ah darn! so if I upgrade without getting the plugins this option is gone in 2022

No. Scott Davenport posted a video about this on YouTube today. He explains how to set up Lightroom to send a photo to Photo RAW with the Edit In menu.

If you are just using On1 features via plugins from Lightroom and Photoshop then don't bother to upgrade to PhotoRAW 2022. Wait until the set of 2022 plugins are released and upgrade to those. Hopefully On1 will offer some suitable deal for those who need to do this as only used PhotoRAW as plugin.

Just to clarify then, please. In my current workflow, I use On1 Photo Raw 2021 as a plugin from Photoshop. I pre-ordered On1 Photo Raw 2022 and just installed it. Now I discover that I have to completely change my workflow in order to use the upgrade, as the upgrade no longer has a plugin for Photoshop. Am I understanding this correctly? If so, why was this information not made clear prior to the purchase of the upgrade? Is there any intention to develop the plugin at a later date (and, I imagine, at an additional cost)?

People have been discussing the decision to separate the plug-ins from the base application for over a month now. Yes, the plug-ins are being updated for 2022. Right now we have NoNoise AI 2022, the rest are supposed to be released next month.
Do you use the Photo RAW program by itself or just via the plug-ins? It sounds like you might have purchased the wrong package. If all you want are the plug-ins and you don't use the application send a message Kahlie in Customer Service and see what she can do about refunding your purchase and getting you the plug-ins. The program does come with a 14 day, money back guarantee.
If you do use both the stand-alone Photo RAW program and the plug-ins then you need to get the bundle and yes, it does cost more. You are now buying 6 programs, not just one.
You have the option of purchasing your programs outright or subscribing to them If you subscribe you get all software, including the plug-ins, free for as long as you maintain the subscription.

Using Photoshop as my base, I use Photo Raw as a plug-in to edit my images. I use other plug-ins for noise reduction and sharpening that I prefer to the On1 suite.

Then you only need to purchase those plug-ins that you use. They are sold individually as well.
You should give NoNoise AI a try. I does a much better job than Topaz Sharpen AI IMO.

Right now I've switched from the stand-alone to mainly using the plugins from Photoshop and Lightroom

Good thing I dug into this because I would have been very disappointed not seeing the plugins for 2022. The communication from ON1 was confusing.

I have installed ON1 RAW 2022….the expensive all-inclusive version. Am I to understand the Lightroom Classic plug-ins are not yet functioning but will be in the next month or so? Am a bit confused. I am currently using the newly purchased ON1 RAW 2022 version as an external editor in LRC. Workable but inconvenient. Thanks for any clarification.

That is correct, the plug-ins for 2022 are not yet ready and are expected to be released sometime next month.

Is there a way to get noticed when the plugin for Photoshop is available?

The company usually sends out an email notice when new products are about to be released.

I have what I believe is a simple question. If I have a subscription to ON1 and on1 Plus will I get the 2022 plugins when they are released? I sue do hope the answer is yes. I have been a silent ON1 user since 2016, bought many of your products and subscriptions and I must say, the communication on this new release has been less than stellar.

Hi Joseph,
Yes, as noted several times above, subscribers will get the plug-ins once they are ready for release.
You should also know that you are not talking to the company here on the Support Forums. The people here are all users like yourself who want to help other users.
The level and clarity of the announcement of this release has been a common complaint. Hopefully, they are taking note for future reference.

I apologize, this was my very first post, I thought the fact that it said "moderator" meant that you worked for ON1. I am 70 years old and never used a blog before. Thanks for the help and the education!

No problem Joseph, it's a common mistake.

Hi all, I've got a followup question now that I know the plugins aren't ready. Is there a way to access the sky replacement feature in one of the professional series plugins, or is this only available with the the Photo Raw editor itself?
I wrongly assumed that it would be found within Effects, but no luck. I've never used the Raw editor as my workflow starts in Capture One Pro, then Photoshop CC where I use OnOne as plugins. If you purchase the raw editor w/ plugins (when available) or all of the pro series plugins, its the same price, so I feel a little cheated if I can't access all features they are promoting. I really only need NoNoise AI and Effects, but for the price you might as well get the deal for all of them. Frustrated...

You won't see it in the current On1 Effects because that's the 2021 version and Sky is newer than that. When the 2022 Effects is released I wouldn't be surprised if Sky is included. Unfortunately, we don't have any inside info, so you'll have to just wait and see.

That makes sense. Thanks for your help Rick! Crossing my fingers.
