What kind of Mac are you running? What are its specs?

What is happening when you try to open the jpgs or tiffs?

    Hi Brian,

In the Brows window I see my Desktop folder. When I click on the down arrow no folder  is showing below the arrow.  When I try dropping a jpg image in ON 1 2022 it does open a window by there is know image just a grey window with an x in it.

    Computer specs are shown below.

This seems like a major bug..

Do you have any folders on your Desktop?

Can you show me a screenshot of the window you see from trying to open the jpeg please? Is it an X or a diagonal slash through the image? That means there is something about the file that is preventing Photo RAW from being able to work with it. Is it in color or black and white? PR cannot work with images in the grayscale colorspace. If you have a B&W in grayscale it has to be converted to an RGB colorspace first. It is also possible the file is damaged. There is a free program called Bad Peggy that will analyze image files and report any corruption it finds.

What happens when you use the Browser to navigate to your Pictures folder? Note that my Pictures folder is on an external drive.

Hi.  I have many folders with images on my desk top.  Everything work as it should using ON 1 Photo Raw 2021.   ON 1 Photo RAW 2022 is the problem.

    see screen shots below

When I drop a Jpg image on ON 1 PHOTO RAW 2022 the above window is displayed.

The icon with the diagonal line through it means PR cannot work with that file for some reason. See what I wrote above. If you want to make a copy available for download I'll be glad to give it a try on my system.

The program does work. I've been running it for over a month now. The first thing I would do is reinstall the program. That may clear things up; it has solved problems for other users.

Next I would go through the Delete Settings and Reset Program steps.

Except that the top of the screen identifies the jpeg being worked with. I think that message comes from the Preset preview generator not having a valid image to render. I'd like to see the file.

James, I found your thread last night when looking for a solution to the EXACT same problem.  Later in the night, I was able to open jpg's by copying photos from other directories/folders on my HD and pasting them in the Pictures directory - '22 will then open the photos (my path is:  Browse-local drives-Macintosh HD-Users-Me-Pictures).  '21 opens the jpg's - '22 will not, unless I put them in and open them from the Pictures directory.  Issue seems to be '22's incompatibility between it and Big Sur ver 11.6 (Finder?) that I'm using.  I created a folder ON1 Photos and moved several jpg photos into it - they open fine from there.  I did this after finding out that the ON1 sample jpg's did open from the ON1 Samples folder ON1 created on installation, after I deleted '22 and re-installed it last night and experienced the same issue we are having.

Maybe this helps and someone can fwd this to the appropriate ON1 geek gurus who deal with these kinds of problems.

I have the same problem with .jpeg or .jpg files. I select them, enter edit and I get the window with the white square and slash mark through it. This only occurs in ON1 Photo Raw 2022 and not in 2021. I run an iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, 2017) with Big Sur 11.6.1.

What is the problem? I see that this has been happening with no solution for over 3 months. When will it be fixed?

    Bob,

If you're seeing that when going into Edit, go back to Browse and try again (the Browse button may be the only one active) and it may work the second time. I've seen random photos get stuck that way even though there is nothing wrong with them.

If this isn't fixed in tomorrows 2022.1 update, it probably won't be for a long time.
