I was installing the new update for Photo Raw 2022 184.108.40.20612 from inside of the initial 2022 program using the new version announcement screen. I have done this before on other versions of Photo Raw without issues.
The download completed successfully and the installer started. The installer shut down the Photo Raw 2022 session I was running. The Installer then seemed stalled and finally popped up an error screen. The error screen said the Photo Raw 2022 session I was running could not be shut down. The screen already looked like the program had shut down. There was only one choice on the error screen and that was to abort the install. When I aborted the Install the error window closed. I could now see what the problem was. When the installer tried to shut down the 2022 Photo Raw session, Photo Raw was set to do a backup once a day. The backup screen did a "pop under" the install screen so I had no idea what was going on.
I cancelled the backup and Photo Raw 2022 shut down. I started Photo Raw 2022 and the new version message came up again. I started the update once again and had to wait for it to download the code a second time. The install program worked as expected this time. Photo Raw 2022 did not try another backup for the day when it was shut down. I am now running version 220.127.116.1112 with no issues.
This looks like an easy fix in programming. This was never an issue before since the backup routine is new to Photo Raw 2022.
