Richard, on1 saves the HDR file as a .Onphoto file.

It will be in the same directory as the original photos.

It may help you find it if you sort browse view by "File Name"

If you do that it will be right next to the files you used to create the HDR image

A slight correction to what David said. The resultant .onphoto file will be placed in the selected folder. This means that if you have Show Sub-Folder Contents turned on and the files you select are in one of the sub-folders, the .onphoto file will be placed in the parent folder NOT the folder containing the source images.

It should be selected when you return to the Browser. If you don't see it, try pressing a left or right arrow key to force the window to update to the selected file.

To avoid problems like this, I always move all of the files to a subfolder to keep everything together.

Sorry, but none of these suggestions work.  I can see the HDR.ON1 file in Windows Explorer but not in Browse.  This was not an issue with ON1 2021 or prior versions.  Try it for yourself and see if the HDR photo shows up in Browse.  Thanks in advance for your help.

Richard, the example I showed you was a test right after I read your post. I can see the .onphoto file in browse.

If you know the file exists but Browse isn't showing it, you may be able to force an update by going out of that folder (to some other folder) and coming back.

No, you shouldn't have to do that so you might want to let On1 support know about the problem.

Richard, you mentioned an .on1 file. That is the sidecar file which holds the edits you made to some file named HDR. The file extension you are looking for is .onphoto. It should have the same name as the super-selected image from the set; the one with the brighter outline. The new HDR file should be named 'super-selected'_HDR.onphoto.

Do me a favor please. Go to C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\ON1\ON1 Photo RAW 2022\ and delete the ON1 Photo RAW Log.txt file. Relaunch the program so it creates a new one, do the HDR thing again then quit the program and send me the log file. You'll have to compress it and upload that to a file sharing site like Dropbox and post the download link here.

That should tell me where the file was saved and its name. Deleting the log file first leaves only what you've done for this test for me to dig through.

I'm having the same problem with ON1 Raw 2022, worked fine with 2019. I'm using a Mac.

Steve, if you put your HDR files into a subfolder, then when HDR creates is final file it will also be in that folder and easier to find. I believe HDR creates an onphoto file with the merged images.

There is no point in posting the log file here. We are not On1 and No one here knows how to read it.

    Hi Rick,

my 3 raw files are in their own sub-folder, and still no final file appears there (or anywhere else on my Mac).

I posted a link to and an extract from the log file, as the post above mine asked for that info and if they are still around, may be able to help me.

I would suggest that you contact On1 support about this. If you're not getting any file, there is nothing we can suggest in this forum that will fix it.

EDIT: Well, there is one thing. Delete the settings file and try HDR again. It's amazing how many thing are corrected by deleting that file. Instructions here...

Thanks, I tried deleting the settings - no joy.  Have logged with ON1.
