PR 2021 uninstall
Hi Brian - I'm now working with 2022 which has lost many edits since the upgrade fro 2021. Therefore I would like to keep both apps installed but I have a problem. 2021 will not open at all! So how do I deactivate the license and uninstall the application in order to re-install it? Tony

Deactivating the license and uninstalling the application (which one?) shouldn't be necessary. I'm seeing what are apparently lost edits in some of my files too. In reality the edits are still there in most cases; I can see that when I open the associated .on1 file in a text editor. In those cases I use the Finder to move the image file and its associated sidecar files into a new folder. Browsing to that folder in PR recovers the edits and I can move the file back to its original location using the Browser then trash the folder.
Why doesn't 2021 open? What happens when you try? Do you see the splash screen?

2021 is the problem. Most times the splash screen appears which then shows the "report the problem" and then the interface open for about a second and then crash..........!
Re the 2022 edit loses - II've tried moving the affected files before but without success, but I'll give it another go! Ironically they seem to be re-appearing in an ad-hoc way - which has happened before.......spooky!

I can't find any rhyme or reason to why the program "forgets" about the edits or what triggers it to make their loss permanent.
For 2021 not running you're in a tricky place because the crash reporter dialog conflicts with the dialog to Delete Settings which is what you need to do to be able to recover the program's functionality. What I do in these cases is Cancel the crash log dialog them immediately Quit the program before anything else happens. Now you can relaunch the program with the shift key pressed and Delete Settings.

Brian - you're a star and thank you for all your help..........
2021 - Well - having made several speedy attempts at closing the application before the crash, it finally happened closed and pleased to say it is now fully operational......
Looking at a specific sub-folder on my NAS there are 284 .cr3 files. Using Advanced Search "edited photos" 2021 shows 48 images have edits. Closing 2021 and opening 2022 then browsing exactly the same sub-folder 2022 shows 284 .cr3 files and 23 edited images! How can this be, since both applications are reading the same Raw and sidecar files?
Whilst moving a Raw plus 2 sidecars to a different folder using Finder, and then back to where they existed using PR, this would be a very time consuming piece of work. Therefore my question is - in the example above, would moving the entire contents off the sub-folder 284 image plus all sidecars and then, back to where they belong using PR2022 be a more efficient method? Mind you - it's a bit daunting to do this for a whole years work let alone one's total library. Either way a challenge!

There is an uninstaller inside the program's folder.

When I click the uninstaller it tells me its not authorized to send events to finder. I recently upgraded to PR2022. Its awesome by the way, Im very happy. You're gonna keep me as a customer if you keep making great products.

Eric, this is a problem with Mac, not with On1. I'm not a Mac guy so can't help. You can either wait for Brian to get back or contact On1 tech support and ask them.

Hi Eric, I’m sorry but it will be a few more days before I’m back and fully online again. My Mac is in the shop until at least Wednesday and I can’t really troubleshoot this from my phone.
What I can tell you is to go to the Mac’s System Preferences and the preference pane that allows you to control permissions for the programs you have installed. Make sure the uninstaller has permissions to make changes in the Finder.
It isn’t necessary to use the uninstaller. You can just trash the program’s application folder and any 2021 plugins you may have installed in other apps and you’ll be good to go.

Ill trash the folder then. 😁
I didn't know if ON1 installed deeper into the system or not. Thank you very much!

It does install more stuff but the uninstalled doesn’t remove any of it. I’ll post more when I get my system back where I can get to notes, etc.
If you’re really interested you can download the shareware program Suspicious Package which will allow you to open the installed package and see exactly what gets installed where. Note that some of what gets installed is shared between different versions of the program so don’t assume something is safe to be removed without verifying another version isn’t using it.

Hi everyone,
Can someone there tell me what is going on?!?!?!?!?
I just purchased the Resize AI stand-alone app. Below is the screen I'm met with. Every selection I attempt to make is met with a "dunk" sound then nothing. I cannot even click the "Sign In" button.
Thoughts?????

You should have started a new topic for this question. It has nothing to do with the previous posts here.
I'd be willing to bet big $$$ that your file is grey scale. On1 products only work with RGB files.
For now, you can't cancel out of that so you'll have to kill it and start over. Try the same with a color photo. It should work.
If that actually is a greyscale image, you'll need to convert it to RGB before you can use it in On1 resize.
If it's not greyscale, make sure it's a supported file type. See the attached article. (Photo Raw specs are the same as Resize)

Rick!
The image file was in CMYK.
It opened in Resize AI after being Saved As an RGB.Thank You!!
