Phone picture organization
Hey guys,
I'm just curious to see how everyone organizes their phone pictures vs DSLR. I've been keeping them separate from my main file structure but I've been thinking about putting them together (I use YYYY_M_D). I like the idea of seeing what I've taken with just the phone and do have them keyworded but I feel that I could do a better job keeping them organized. I know it's a matter of preference but I'm just looking for opinions.
Thanks,
Greg

You don't have to keyword them to be able to identify the phone photos from DLSR photos. The Advanced Search has the ability to search for photos take with any camera you've loaded pictures from.

Thanks Brian. I'm aware of that feature but I was thinking more of where to store them. I'm probably just overthinking my structure. I'll probably just end up putting them back into the main folders. By the way, I saw some of your recent post responses and you sir have the patience of a saint!

I keep mine all together. I organize by subject/location first, then by date within that. I like keeping the photos I took at one location and on the same day in the same folder regardless of the camera used to take them. Other's have different organizations they prefer.
I'll let others chime in with their opinions so you can get different perspectives on the subject.

Like Brian, I keep mine all grouped together. I use "YYMMDD_<description>" names for folders. I haven't worried about mixing my camera vs phone pictures. If a friend shares interesting pictures from the same outing, I'll create a subfolder with their name for keeping track of them separately. If you wanted to , you could have separate Camera and Phone folders under your main folder to separate them.
