One other comment if I go back and re-edit them again then they save but I had to go back and redo all the editing masking and composition again

When you add a layer to a photo a .Onphoto file is created. You must open the .Onphoto file after saving to see your edits or to continue editing that image. If you open the original file that is what you are seeing the original file.

Can you make all the files with their .on1 sidecar files available for us to download? It's hard to tell exactly what's going on from the screenshots.

I have exactly the same issue here on a MAC and new 2022 version.

Any results on this topic ?

    Thanks

Thanks for the screenshots, Uwe. Unfortunately, they are too low rez for me to see what's going on. If you'd care to share the .onphoto file and its .on1 sidecar I can get a better idea of what the problem is.

    Thanks for responding so quickly.

I appreciate very much to get heard and can contribute to the problem solving..

I found 2 more pictures with exactly the same issues.

I fiddled around with the corrupted file in the editing mode,

The entire masking on the first layer was gone !
The masking was made with the new Line masking tool.

I tried to copy the mask from one of the the other layers and bring it back to the first layer .
I was unable to paste that copied mask back into that first layer.
So I duplicated that first layer and then I was able to paste the mask.
    Everthing was back to normal.

Hope that helps for investigation and reproduction of the error.

It cannot be investigated any further without seeing the problematic files Uwe.

If you sent them to tech support then you'll have to wait for an answer from them. If you want people here to provide more help you'll have to post the files somewhere we can download them so we can take a look.

I found a quick solution for the issue.

Just duplicate the damaged picture in the browser and all setting are correctly back.

I tried it on multiple corrupted files, and duplication worked always.

Not solving the problem but at least a way to get the entire work back,

That works because the program is seeing the new duplicate as a new photo. It does not have any database entries or sidecar files. Using the Reset Settings command should accomplish the same thing.

Goo to hear you found a solution.
