Can't Paste a Mask

When I hit Copy the dialog box pops up showing rendering, but when I open another effect or local tab the Paste button is not active. I tried closing the program and resetting the settings as suggested in a previous post, but that did not solve the issue.

  You should report this to tech support. Be sure to include the image file with its .on1 sidecar and tell them which mask you could not paste and where you were attempting to paste it. You will have to compress them together then upload the compressed file to a sharing site like WeTransfer or Dropbox. Include the download link in your support request.

  I saw this for the first time a couple of days ago. It was a luminosity mask that I had either made brushed adjustments to or added a gradient to. In my case is would not even copy.

  Thanks....I will reach out.  It's weird that it just started happening.  Maybe after a Windows update?
