Odd Mouse behavior
I have run into an odd problem when in edit mode. On occasion when I edit , especially if I accidently change size or zoom in, my mouse cursor disappears. It is visible when in the side tabs, but seems to go beneath the picture I am editing. If I move the cursor to either side tab it reappears , appearing to go beneath my picture. I have tried two different mice (one logitech and one microsoft) thinking it could be a driver issue, but no joy. If I restart the program, the cursor is back and I can begin editing again.
Anybody else seen this and if so any thoughts why?

I see this too and others have mentioned it as well. It seems to be a bug in the UI. Sometimes you can recover by choosing a different tool then returning to the one you really want to use. Sometimes you have to return to the Browser and sometimes you have to Quit the program and relaunch it.
Please report this to support so they can get a handle on how widespread the problem is. The more people who report a problem the more likely it is to get fixed.

Thanks Brian,
I will report this as soon as I install 2022.1 and see if it persists in that build as well.

I found this post by search, so I won't create one more.
Mac Mini Silicon, Monterey, Logitech mouse; too many occurs of my mouse cursor disappears in ON1, browse or edit, I can't see what I'm doing so it's painful. Please don't tell me "delete settings" ! All the softs I use (photo, text, Pages, Numbers, Affinity, FCPX, net navigators etc, I always have my mouse pointer on and visible. Did Steven found a solution, or got tech support solutions ?

You already know the answer. Delete your settings then talk to support.

Dear Brian, deleting settings is not for me the miraculous solution each time problems occurs in ON1 (anyway, for your info, I pre-ordered next 2023), doing this I must reset all the preferences again and again. As an old architect who used many complexes architecture softwares, as well I used and still use plenty softwares, I never had this "deleting settings" proposals in case of problem; bugs were solved (at least most of them in each softs). How many times did I delete settings here ? Too much, for just see the problems coming back again? You who have some contacts with the developers team should tell them about this big lack, "delete settings" can't be the fairy way for users to get ON1 quite perfect.
Anyway, maybe Steven who posted about the mouse issue 9 months ago have more infos ?

I did indeed submit a ticket and it was a known bug that they were working on. I have upgraded to 2022.5 but not the very last patch of that and no longer have seen that issue

You may not like it but it what is needed and more often than not it will fix the problem for most users. It annoys me to have to do it too. When you contact support that will be the first thing they tell you to do so why not just get it done and over with. Also, there isn't anything anyone here can do about it so why dump that on us?
I agree that there is a problem when preferences files are being corrupted so often adding this procedure became necessary. They need to fix the bugs that are causing the corruption. One of the program's problems is the program's design has led to separate preferences files for each module with duplication in each file for certain settings.
I do try to convince them of some of these shortcomings when I find them but they are as resistant to my thoughts as everyone else's for the most part. The setting to allow pressure sensitivity for the Perfect Erasure does not get saved and must be turned back on every time we select the tool. It is the only brush which doesn't retain that setting and they aren't interested in fixing it. It is literally a 2 line of code change to store that setting when toggled and to read it back in when the tool is selected.
I've never had the problem where the mouse pointer just disappears like that. The problem I have is that often, using the hotkeys to switch between tools will leave the Zoom Tool's magnifying glass displayed over the actual tool's icon. When using a small brush this is a problem as you can no longer see the brush properly. I've never noticed it happen when I use the mouse to select the new tool but I'm a keyboard user and hotkeys are faster than moving the mouse to the tool bar then having to move it back and find your spot in the image all over again. I think there have been discussions on this problem in these forums in the past.

I am surprised to hear you say that they are resistant to your observations and thoughts. As one of their power users/moderators I would have thought that they would use you as a point man to uncover problems the user is having to be able correct.

On some things they are. I have to convince them it is a problem some if the times and things like pressure sensitivity retention are off their radar.

Thanks Steven; my ON1 version is the latest 2022.5 16.5.1, Mac Mini 2021 runs Monterey 12.6.
Mouse problem is still here, I'll wait for 2023 release.
