Somebody is doing something with it. There were updates made today on its GitHub site.

If the program doesn't recognize the EXIF data that identifies your lens (or any other piece of metadata) then there won't be any way for the program to search for it. What does the Info panel show for photos taken with that lens?

For things like drop-down lists and auto completion you'll have to talk to tech support.

    Great answers

Have you tried searching with Contains as the selection? So Lens Contains PENTAX-D FA?

This starts the search and make take a few seconds before results are displayed.

If several lenses have this then search could then be narrowed by adding second field looking for 50mm, making sure search set up to Match All.

I agree a drop down would be a lot easier but that might require enhancing the On1 database to add extra cross references to record all the possible values of all the possible EXIF fields for all the image files to build up a drop down list. Perhaps that might come but for the moment it looks as they have added searching in the information that they already store in database.

No, Lens Contains PENTAX-D FA doesn't find this particular 50mm lens, since as far as ON1 is concerned, the lens name is empty (despite it being in the EXIF).

The Info panel for this lens shows nothing for the lens except "50 mm".

There are several threads here in the Support Forums about the differences in EXIF data between different manufactures and different models from the same manufacturer and how that affects lens info in particular. Another factor is whether or not that lens is in the Lensfun database ON1 uses for their programs to ID the different lenses. If it isn't in the database it won't be recognized. There are also threads on how to manually add your lens if you are technically inclined.

I submitted shots with this lens to lensfun a while ago, but it hasn't flowed through yet.

They can be slow too from what I've read.

I read that the lensfun database is not being updated anymore, the person who used to do it does not have time. This means that any new lenses such as the new mirrorless ones, of which I now own 2 are not being added. Surely some company needs to step in and take over. ON1 is going to start losing customers if the database is not updated.
