Yes, the backup has completed or you'd still be seeing the progress dialog for it. The problem with the program freezing during the Shutting Down phase has been discussed elsewhere on these forums. All you can do is to keep reporting it to tech support.

I have ON1 2022.1 on both an Intel iMac and an M1 MacBook Pro. ON1 freezes trying to back up using the dialog that  pops up when I close the app. I get a Progress window:"Shutting Down. Stopping the common preset manager." I have to force quit, even after leaving it overnight to see if it will finally  end.

This is the same problem with a different point at which it is freezing. All we can do for now is Force Quit the program when it happens.

If you look at the .onbackup file that gets created you'll most likely find that the backup did finish properly.

This freezing when the program is shutting down can happen even without performing the backup. Hopefully it will be fixed in next month's update.

The last comment was 3 months ago and this thread is at least 6 months old.  ON1 2022.5 is doing the same thing. Why can't this be fixed? Force quitting the app is a real pain.

This happened with 2022 and now 2022.5.  This happened on my Intel iMac, and now on my M1 MacBook and Apple Studio. It clearly is a software problem.
