smart albums disappeared
All of a sudden, smart albums are no longer visible, but they exist, because re-saving them is not possible, they already exist. As a consequence, it is also not possible to delete them.
Option show/hide has no effect.
Any way to make them visible without resetting everything?

This has been discussed elsewhere. It looks like a bug in the program and you should report it. Right now restarting the program is the only way I know to get then back,

Thank you Brian!
I create a new smart album, visible (only this last one). On restarting the program, also this one disappeared. on restarting again, more than one time, smart album are no longer visible.
Another bug that should be addressed quickly is related to slideshow, when on escape the original window is messed up. (also this has been discussed elsewhere).
I really hope not to wait one year to have things fixed.
Best wishes of a happy new year!

Now, albums too have been messed up.
As smart albums are no longer visible in any way, I used saved searches to create albums. And this is not possible, albums already exist - but they are not there. I have created albums with another name.
Any ideas?

All we can do for now is report this to support so the engineers can get it fixed.

I have also had the same issue and reported this problem on Dec 21st. Heard back once asking for some information but have not heard anything back since then. I assume it’s because of the holidays. With that said I have decided not to use ON1 full time but only as a Plugin with Lightroom Classic. I actually have less issues working that way since I have to much time invested in Lightroom.
Cheers,
Stu

Reported this issue many weeks ago to On1 team.
They answered they will try to find a solution. For the moment, I found this one works fine: (on win10)
- launch the "run" app ("esegui" in italian)
- digit the path. In my case it is C:\Program Files\ON1\ON1 Photo RAW 2022 /reset
hope this helps,
Stefano

Thank you Stefano
with new new update the problem seems to be gone, although again smart albums disappeared a couple of times at the beginning (MacBook).
Nevertheless, other problems persist: both with albums and smart albums, when I try to save some names are refused - this name already exist - but those names DON'T exist and I never used them to save albums /smart albums (boh?).
Another problem: I can't delete dafault names of smart albums - they don't appear in the list, together with a couple of mine also (boh?).

Gianni, it sounds like your database has become corrupt and needs to be Reset. Restart the program with a Shift key pressed. Keep it pressed until you see the Delete Settings dialog then click the Reset ON1 Photo RAW button.

I've decided to restart everything from scratch.
Why is it then that my old searches still appear, and I can't delete them because they don't appear in the delete list (it is empty)?
and also presets are there?
thank you

Is it possible to effectively start everything from scratch (only last update) - new?
MacBook pro
Thank you

Been having this Smart Album issues since ON1 added it back to the program. Yes I reported (Dec 21st) this to ON1 but never received any solutions. Even the latest update didn’t fix this issue.
Now with that said I saw the post Brian posted today about using Shift when starting ON1 and than Reset ON1 Photo Raw. Well I am happy to report this has worked. I did have to redo all Smart Albums but since I only did a few before they started to disappear it was not that big of an issue. Wish I would of known about this reset feature sooner or that Support would had suggested this in a response to my issue. But anyhow thanks Brian for posting your suggestion.
Cheers,
Stu

Gianni, have you gone through the Reset ON1 Photo RAW process yet? If not give that a try first then let us know how it went.

Yes, of course.
deleted everything following suggestions in the support thread.
changed name of my textures / preset directories.
reinstalled.
Presets are there
previous searches are there
delete a style dropdown menu, empty
I'm at a loss now

Here's the process I use to manually remove all traces of ON1 from my system. It leaves the .on1 files alone so your edits are safe.
- /Applications/ON1 Photo RAW 202x
- /Library/Application Support/ON1
- /Library/Frameworks/ON_____.framework
- ~/Library/Application Support/ON1 — Make sure to export all your presets first so you can import them after reinstalling
- ~/Library/Caches/com.ononesoftware.ON1PhotoRAW____ There are several of these
- ~/Library/Caches/ON1 Photo RAW 202x
- ~/Library/Preferences/com.ononesoftware.ON1______ There are several of these one for each program module

Thanks,
I'll give another try. It'll take some time, there are indeed files I haven't deleted manually.

As before. The only folder I couldn't fine is ... frameworks. Everything else, deleted
Presets are there, saved searches also, delete a style - empty
I give up

Unfortunately my solution worked just for some hours and no more than 7/8 app launches.
After that, same problem appeared:
- smart albums (SA) sometimes disappear and some other not
- sometimes no SA at all is shown
- even if I try to recreate a previous one, ON1 tells me I cannot use that name (the SA is not visible)
it's a real shame the few times it worked it was really good and was very useful.

I have the same issue, restarting or using the /reset option mentioned by Stefano Conti didn't help. I've reported it so now I hope this issue will be solved soon.

Another problem, still in the left ribbon.
Also the "date" function that should group by date and month sometimes works (appears) and other not. Sometimes the date even appears twice:
2020
2020
2019
2019
I work on cataloged folders ONLY
I am really very annoyed with these problems, which a product like ON1 shouldn't have!0 -
Report it to tech support. Include screenshots showing them what you are looking at.

good morning.
AFAIK, the ON1 2023 version doesn't suffer this problem and seems to works fine
