Unfortunately, that's all you can do. If you're given the option of reporting to Apple, copy the crash log and send it to tech support. You may not see the crash report when the program restarts. If you do, paste it in there and send it again.

I'm having the same problem on my MBP M1Pro. Unfortunately, no dialog for reporting the error occurs.

Will this be resolved with a future update?

We can only hope. The company hasn't said anything about it.

I did raise an issue with support on this. Haven't heard back (other than acknowledging the receipt of issue).

I'll try to remember to post here when I can an answer.

I am having to force quit on a regular basis. I have reported this several times to support, with the log files. So far I am finding PR 2022 rather unstable on my Mac Mini M1.

Other than it not shutting down properly, I've found it quite stable. Let's hope there is a fix coming soon. Funny thing, during testing I received a version of the program which did not have that problem. Then a different build was released and it came back. Bummer.

besides the error above, it seems to work fine in a technical way on my machine - fortunately. but this es listener error has been getting a bit annoying lately.

i have some concerns about processing quality, but i'll pass, since a) it's off topic here, b) the feature set of the app makes it kinda bearable.

    Great answers

If you are hitting the problem then make sure that you report it to support and supply any extra information that they asked for.

I reported the problem on 2022.0 and was given pre-release builds of 2022.1 with an additional diagnostic option and asked to send logs if I hit the problem. Which I did but apparently other people who were offered the same did not respond.

With transient issues like this the more information support have the better the chances they have to identify the issues and fix them.

My gut feeling is that it could be some form of interaction between On1 and MacOS, particularly when Mac has gone to sleep that somehow messes up the regular scanning of catalogued folders leaving On1 waiting for something before it can close down. Several of my hangs seemed to happened after I got a MacOS error message about ejecting a disk before disconnecting when the disk was still connected and appearing in Finder.

I only started getting these errors after moving to M1 iMac and upgrading to Monterey. They have been less frequent since I got a USB-C to USB-A adaptor which allowed me to connect all my On1 related disk directly to iMac and not via hub. So possible several things all going at the same time.

With little feedback from other users On1 were starting to think that my remaining closedown issues were linked to my system set up, and hence much more difficult to diagnose.

I agree that software development (and in particular debugging transient issues) is really hard, it's what I do for a living. :-)

In my case, I was not doing any of those issues you mentioned. What I was doing was updating a bunch of photos with GPS info. Nothing more.

I have not managed to gather additional info, and it has not happened again. I will be on the lookout for this though.

Thanks all. Great to be part of an active community.
