exported file with PR 2021 presents lower resolution vs PR 2020
First of all, have a happy and plenty of photo new year to all of you!!!
Since few days I have updated my 2020 Photo Raw editing tool with the new 2022 version, I started to compare the export windows and discovered that it seems that in the new 2022 version the exported file (both Tiff and Jpeg) seems to have a very low resolution respect the same file exported with the 2020 version.
For example, if I just open a Raw file in the editing module and then export it (without any modification) as Tiff, 16 bit, with Adobe RGB profile, with the 2020 version I obtain a tiff image of 104.000kb while with the 2022 version the same file exported without any modification is only 7.550kb. Unfortunately the lower resolution of the 2022 exported file is very evident when you visualize it through any picture viewer (I use XnView or Infran). The same happen with Jpeg.
Is there any particular setting I can use in the 2022 version to export the file maintaining at least the same resolution of the 2020 version?

And a happy new year to you too.
In the export dialog you can try pushing the quality up to 100. Maybe that helps, otherwise I don't know any other way to increase the quality.

thank you Gerry,
in case of JPG I already export using 100% quality, while with Tiff i use the maximum bit dept available (16bit).
Unfortunately the final export quality is very poor

There is a quality setting for TIFF files too. Are you using one of the compressed formats?

I tried setting both "none" and "LZW" the result is exactly the same and the file size do not change.
Also this seems to be a bug. Does it happen only to me?

I haven't specifically tested this, especially comparing it to earlier versions as I no longer have any of them installed. I'll play with 2022.1 later and see if I'm seeing any differences with my files. Either way you should probably report this to tech support.

I reported it to the Tech Support, I'm waiting for a reply.
On my monitor ( BenQ SW271) the quality of the output is so poor that it is completely useless to spend time editing a picture if then I can not enjoy seeing the result ....

On the new Export panel there is a Resize option just below file type. Have you got this enabled. If you are resizing as part of Export then that could lead to a reduction in file size.
Are you on Windows or Mac? Are you just viewing the exported file in On1 or something like Preview on a Mac?
I sometimes see issues with On1 taking time to update its previews, doing something like going from Grid to full screen and back can clear this.
I have been exporting quite a few images on 2022 and 2022.1 while doing housekeeping on my library, and am not seeing unusable images. Running on a Mac.

David, thank you for the suggestion.
I discovered that within the resize windows the resolution was set at 72ppt instead of 300ppt (it was my previous setting with PR2020).
I do not know if this is the best setting in order to save pictures to be showed on a 4k monitor 27inch or on a TV (50inch), but at least now I can see them with a good quality.
Thank you again
Andrea
