Your screenshots didn't show up. I assume you're using a Mac? It captures screenshots as pngs which this site doesn't like. I use a free program called TinkerTool which allows you to pick the file format you want Apple's Screen Capture program to use for saving the screenshots. I've set mine to jpegs which work fine here.

Which program do you want to open the exported .dngs? I don't know why they won't preview in the Finder, I'm seeing the same thing on my system. I cannot even open them in Preview.

This is something which needs to be reported to tech support.

EDIT: Bridge is able to open them. It's possible this is an Apple problem.

Yes, it does but that requires extra steps for every single screen capture you want to post here. Tinker Tool allows a set it once and forget it method. You can even capture them to the clipboard and paste them directly in to the Add a comment space.

    Hi,

The DNG 's were exported directly from ON1  2022, and do not open in pre-view. Technical know about the issue and duplicated it for themselves. I do not know how to attach screen prints to this site but am very willing to do so with instruction, thank you.

As DNG are an open source resource its seems ridiculous that ON1 exports pictures in an un-openable format  that in reality is good for nothing. Hopefully if enough people are concerned about this it will be sorted out. Thank you for all responses.

Have a happy and safe New Year

    Simon

Screenshots in the form of a jpeg can be dragged and dropped or pasted directly into these Add a comment boxes. Apple changed their default format for screen captures to .png a couple of years ago. They have to be converted to jpeg or you can change the default with tools like TinkerTool if you want. See the discussion above for more info and a link.

I am able to open the .dngs produced by Photo RAW with Adobe Bridge and with Topaz programs and with Photomatix Pro. The only programs I've tried that will not open them are Apple's Preview and Photos. That says the problem may be with Apple's programs.

Since the company has reproduced the problem I'm sure the engineers are looking into this and will get it fixed as soon as they can. We just have to wait for an update.

I just got an email from Brent, the Sr Engineer at ON1. Here is his reply to my bug report on this.

"It's our understanding that this is an Apple issue and not an ON1 issue.  Other apps like both Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Lightroom, and Capture One all can open and preview the DNG file we create."
