Can you move the position of the Filmstrip to vertical

I have been given a lovely 32 inch wide screen monitor an was wondering if the filmstrip can be moved to the left hand side (vertical) as this would make more use of the space.

  Unfortunately, no, the Filmstrip cannot be moved.
