Gigapixel may not work as a plugin, but it works fine with 'Send To'. You just need to remember after the resized image is returned to read metadata from it to reset the image size values in Photo Raw since Photo Raw has no way to know that the image was resized..

Yes I should have said that. I have mostly exported an image first and then used GPAI. How do I read the metadata to reset the image size when using Send To?

Send To works with Luminar Neo as well.

With the Photo > Read Metadata from Photo command. From page 57 in the User Guide:

    Reading metadata

Sometimes, when you’ve been sharing raw images across machines or with others, the metadata information might get ‘lost,’ or is different than your original metadata. In these instances, choose Read Metadata from the Photo menu, which will grab the metadata from the file or the XMP file (for raw files).

    Brian: Got it thanks.

I should add that Send To does not work correctly with Topaz DeNoise v3.5. PR creates the TIF or JPG copy which is then sent to DNAI. However, after processing, it sends back an additional file with denoising information appended. On my system I cannot see this file until I quit PR and then re-open it. The devs at Topaz are aware of this issue and suggest rolling back to DNAI v 3.2. (I actually prefer it as it means I don't have to rename the  "copy" file to take account of what DNAI has done to it)

I use the DeNoise AI plugin for v3.5.0 without any problems on my M1 Mini. Since I use the Plug-in I haven't tried Send To.

Does anyone have any thoughts about the plugin for Topaz Mask AI? It's not an app I use routinely and it hasn't been updated for a long time, but as a Topaz beta tester I'd like to get it working just in case.

It is certainly behaving very oddly. In most instances I get the message shown in the screenshot below, even when I have created a duplicate layer within On1. This applies to ARW, DNG, JPG and TIF files.

The one exception was an image that I had already edited in Topaz DeNoise AI and saved as a DNG. This opened immediately in Mask AI. So there must be a difference between the DNGs created by On1 and those created by Topaz. Any thoughts.

On another matter, how do I delete apps in the Send To submenu? I now have several that are out of date or I no longer use, so would like to clear them out.

You're asking for thoughts so that's what you're getting. 😁

Photoshop has a specific type of layer called the Background layer. It is the base layer for the photo. It can be changed to another type of layer by renaming it. I don't remember the details as I haven't used Photoshop since they switched to renting their software but there are some actions that cannot be performed on them until they are renamed. My guess is Photo RAW is creating Background layers. Perhaps it relates to their containing RAW data? Just a guess.

My understanding of Topaz's DNG files is that they are a wrapper around a TIFF file. What does the program's docs say about the types of files it can work with? My guess is RAW files aren't supported and they must be in a pixel format.

Do you still have those apps installed? If the program cannot find the program it will remove it from the Send To menu so uninstalling it or temporarily renaming it should clear it from the menu. If you don't want to uninstall it you can Quit PR, rename the app, restart PR which should clear the menu, then you can restore the proper name for the app.

Thanks for your guesswork. I am not sure that the DNG being really a TIF is an answer, since I cannot send either TIFs or JPGs direct from On1, but I CAN send them if they have been saved first by one of the Topaz programmes.

Anyway, I am not going to worry about it any more. Mask AI is not a programme I really have any use for, since the masking in On1 and in other Topaz products serves me well enough.
