    Just a note:

If you think it's difficult to find anything in the user guide, open it in something like Adobe Acrobat and you'll be able to use the search function to find pretty much anything. If someone is just learning Photo Raw, my recommendation is to leave the guide open while you're working so that you can quickly search for anything you come across that you don't understand...

I'm aware that a new user wouldn't know to look for 'Solo' but you could do the same by searching for any of these... filters, collapse, pane, title, hide, etc.

You probably have solo mode turned on.

While in Edit you can tuun it off

    Thanks David.

I never would have found it. It is buried in p240 of the manua - and IMHO not very clear.

    Thanks again

Thank you!!! I never would have known either. I could not figure out why it was available on my desktop and not on my laptop. What is solo mode anyway, and what is it useful for?

Harold, In Edit when you have multiple filters added, Solo mode will collapse any filter that you're not currently using. With Solo mode off, they will all stay open even if you're not working with it which could get confusing with lots of filters on the stack.

Again, from page 120 of the user guide...

Thank you again. I have been using ON1 since it was the Perfect Browser and then Photo RAW. I never saw solo mode, but now I know. I really appreciate the rapidity of your responses and completeness of your explanation. Sincere thanks.
