Loading pictures not working anymore
Hello community
Whilst in the middle of a batch edit, the program started taking too long to load any picture (whether pressing D to edit, browsing from shot to shot, pasting Edit etc.). Usually when it freezes like this, I quit and restart the program and it works. This is not the case now. Even shutting down the program takes 3 to 4 mins to stop the task manager (I've added screenshots). Right now it's loading a photo for nearly 10 mins. I don't think the program works anymore; the issue is I don't see any reason... nothing has changed. Any help please.

EDIT: during this process of loading pictures, ON1 uses 87% of the RAM. I know I'm short on RAM (8 G) BUT it's not used to behave like this; there's an issue somewhere that I need to figure out and eventually fix, I have to finish these edits in some way or another.
Thank you for your support

It's possible that force quitting the program may have corrupted the database.
The first thing to try is deleting the settings file. Follow the attached article. Don't select Reset as it will dump your catalogs and albums. Only do that as a last resort.

Thank you Rick, this seem to partially solve the issue.
Still experiencing a long loading time... around 30 seconds per shot. What could be the reason?

Could be a number of reasons for slow loading, but 30 sec is not necessarily bad. Possible causes begin with how zippy your PC is and how much RAM it has. Could also be caused if your files are very large. If you have NoNoise enabled on your photos, that will slow it as well since the De-noising happens while the image is being loaded.
