What do you mean by "exporting a NN file back to LrC?" Are you using the NoNoise AI plug-in with Lightroom or are you editing the photo in Photo RAW with its NoNoise AI applied then exporting that to a jpeg, or tiff, or psd that you are then taking to LrC for more editing?

NoNoise AI applies its own lens correction so you shouldn't need to do it again when you send the photo back to Lightroom.

Out of Lightroom I drag a RAW file directly into No Noise. I then export back to Lightroom as a DNG. I noticed lens corrections in the presences which I enabled but I wasn't sure. I'm assuming it will correct for my Canon RF 100-500 alone and with the RF 1.4 Teleconverter. There is no way of knowing. In Lightroom it shows the Lens and RC. If so all is good. Thanks for replying.

Sorry. "I noticed lens corrections in the NoNoise preferences". Darn spell checker.

NoNoise AI is doing the lens correction for you so the DNG you are sending back to Lr has already been corrected.

Is there a reason you are not using the Lr plug-in to send the photo to NoNoise AI? That way you wouldn't have to export the DNG to get it back to Lr.

Will it edit as a RAW file in NoNoise?

Reading page 9 of the NoNoise AI User Guide it says the preferred method of using NNAI with Lr is via the Plug-in Extras command which then brings up a dialog asking you what file type you want to send and recommends using DNG to retain the RAW file's fidelity. I guess it's 6 to 1, half a dozen to the other which way to go — create the DNG before sending to NNAI or when returning to Lr.

If you're happy with your workflow I'd keep using it then.

When I send a file to NoNoise it says it is optimised for RAW files so I figured to get the best results that is the way to go. I have read that applying noise reduction to a RAW file yielded the best results. I believe I can see that comparing a RAW to a DNG/TIFF.

    Thanks for help.
