Whenever odd things like this start happening the first thing to try is Delete Settings followed by Reset ON1 Photo RAW. Delete Settings File

The Reset function will blow away all your Catalogs, Albums, Extras, Keyword List, and Styles. It literally resets the program as if it was the very first time you'd ever installed it. Your edits and metadata changes will be saved as long as you are using the .on1 sidecars.

    Thanks Brian.
I'll give that a try. I assume that it is the same on Windows as it is on a Mac. Ie You just hold shift down whilst booting the system.

    Yes, that's correct.

When I shut down PR 2022 I get a warning "Shutting down ... Stopping Data sources" It runs for hours - literally! I cannot uninstall the program whilst this is running.
If I ignore it and force windows to shutdown and re boot, I have to reinstall PR 2022 and I am back to square 1 with it not importing.
I have deleted all catalogs. It makes no difference.
Attempts to start PR 2022 whilst holding the Shift key causes the program not to start at all even after a re-install.
I have the file "Remove On1 files.vbs which has previously been supplied but I believe that it removes absolutely everything On1 related. As I have previous versions and all the plugin/standalone versions, I am loathe to go down this route but I fear that it may come to this.
    Strangely, Version 2021 works perfectly!
I am running out of ideas.

This is a known problem. You're trying to kill a fly with a sledgehammer. All you have to do is force quit the program. Resetting the program and deleting it and reinstalling it will not help. All we can do is force quit and wait for a fix to be released.

    Brian,
Thank you for your continued efforts! When you say force quit, I assume that you mean end the task in Task Manager. I have done this.
What I find strange, is that I have deleted catalogs, and Smart Albums. I have then used AShampoo uninstaller which allegedly clears all files relating to PR 2022 including registry entries etc. When I have reinstalled PR 2022, the catalogs and Smart Albums are still there.Folders and files that have been created and loaded in Lightroom do not open although they do in PR 2021
Holding the Shift key whilst starting PR2022 simply does not work! I have done this until my hand goes numb from holding the shift key down! ;)
From what you say,I am stuffed! I simply cannot install my files and edit them within PR 2021 until On1 decides to issue a fix.
I guess it's back to PR 2021, Lightroom or DxO PhotoLab 5.
    I am truly disappointed. :(

I do not understand why holding a Shift key during startup is not presenting you with the dialog to Delete Settings or Reset the program. That just does not make any sense whatsoever. It's like saying I can't enter new keywords anymore; nothing happens when I type. It's just not something that should ever fail.

I don't know anything about AShampoo but I have never liked 3rd party uninstallers. It is leaving behind your user data. I'd have to assume that it is only removing the things the program has actually installed and not any user data that the program has created for you. To get rid of that stuff delete the folder C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\ON1\.

Have you submitted a support request to ask about why the Shift key isn't working?

    Brian,
Thanks again for your continued efforts to help. I thought that I would see whether other members have had similar issues first.

I will delete the folder C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\ON1\ and see what happens first and if I have no success, I will put in a support request next.
    Thanks again.

Believe it or not, deleting  C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\ON1\ appears to have done the trick! It was massive! I now have to reinstall a lot of my 'extras'! A small price!

    Thanks Brian for your assistance.

How full was your hard drive before deleting the ON1 folder? A full boot drive will cause problems throughout your system.

Hi Brian, the issue is that the PerfectBrowseCache takes up most of the space in that folder for example here are the details of the Appdata folder:

And PerfectBrowseCache takes up 23GB of that of which the WatchedContent takes up 22.9GB.

The rest is mainly Extras, in my case 6.7GB.

This is exactly why I moved my PerfectBrowseCache and the program's Scratch space to their own drive. Low disk space on the boot drive is why the ability to move those items was added to the program in the first place.

    Brian,
I Estimate that I had about 200Gb free on the C: Drive and that the C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\ON1\  folder was about 190Gb if I recall correctly.
I shall move my PerfectBrowseCache and the program's Scratch space to their another drive.
