Care to make one of your .onphoto files with its .on1 sidecar available for download?

Hi Brian, thanks for the reply.

I have exaggerated the sharpening for effect. And yes I have deleted settings:-)

It is rendering properly for me. I can see a distinct difference when I turn off the Layer returned by Topaz Sharpen. You can see the difference in the screenshot below where all I've done is added a Left/Right Gradient to the Layer's mask.

Please post a shot with the same gradient for me. For now let's stick with the same exaggerated sharpening so we can track what's going on.

    Brian,

I don't think I expressed myself clearly enough. In develop everything is fine, it is opening in browse that seems to ignore the Topaz layer. Open another image first though.

You did say you were working in Browse, that one's on me.

There is something funky going on with that file. Half the time I can't even get it to display full screen in Browse. Half the time when it does display, it is just the upper right corner forced clear down to the lower right corner of my screen and I can't get the program to correct it.

I was able to Duplicate the .onphoto file and it does display correctly for me. Give that a try and if it works, trash the original .onphoto file. The only thing I can think of is that the .on1 file (which the original .CR2 file shares with the original .onphoto file as they share the same name) has become corrupt somehow. Duplicating the photo caused a new .on1 file to be created for the copy without the corruption. That's just a guess though. I'd have to compare the 2 .on1 files to see what differences there are to confirm that.

I duplicated just the .onphoto and trashed the original, but for me no change. Over the past few months I have tried different images, but always the same issue. It is evening here and I am getting a bit tired, so I am going to quit for today. I think I will just have to live with it, as sending to Topaz gives me a great looking TIFF.
Anyway, thanks a lot for taking the trouble to look into this issue.

What happens if you merge the Layers? That should bake in the change.

What happens if you just turn off or delete the bottom Layer? Now only the Topaz sharpened version would remain to be rendered.

Been there, done that, got the T-shirt. I have tried merging, even a new stamped layer and deleted the other layers. Always the same, even when there is only the stamped/merged layer-bizarre. I seems that if ON1 smells Topaz anywhere it gets ignored.

BTW, the same procedure with Nik Silver FX Pro works fine. It seems to be the combination Topaz and ON1 that is the problem. Time for a quick beer, and off to bed. Tomorrow further.
    Thanks again for your assistance.

You're going to have to talk with tech support about this one. I do not see any way this can be happening.

I cant comment on your image as I haven't looked at it.

I am a Topaz user and haven't encountered any problems with layers in On1 PR 2022, either with SAI or DNAI.

However, I am on a Mac Mini M1 running Monterey. It could be a Windows-specific issue. Check if you have the latest drivers (that's what they always say on the Topaz forums) and maybe try an earlier version of SAI or wait for the next update.
