Search for several keywords

You need to change the match field to "any of the following fields", then use a separate line for each keyword you wish to search for (which I think you were doing).

If you still have problems try changing CONTAINS to IS.

If you choose the option Any of the following rules a search for nature and trees will do just that. It will return all photos with either of those keywords. This is an OR condition.

Setting it to All of the following rules will return just those photos with both nature and trees keywords. This is an AND condition.

Now I'm looking for 1 keyword. Example: water. How can I look for only one keyword. I put the keyword in the search: water (keyword: is), shows me photos that have the keyword water on. If a photo also has the keyword city in addition to the keyword water, this is also shown to me. But I just want to filter the photos that only have water as a keyword. Regardless of whether I have a condition: set all of the following rule or one of the following rules, the result is the same.

Only the possibility of entering the other keywords in the search with that as "does not include"?

Something doesn't work the way I think that.
I have photos with the keywords: architecture and London. Then I have photos with the keywords: architecture and Rome.
In the search I add "All following rules"> Keyword is> "Architecture. The keyword is> London. The photos with architecture and London are displayed correctly. Now I add an additional field with keyword to the search options. Now in the search "All following rules"> Keyword is> "Architecture"> Keyword is> "London"> Keyword is> Rome. But no results are now displayed.
    What am I doing wrong?

No, there isn't any way to find photos containing just the keyword 'water'. As you've found that search will return all images with that keyword regardless of any other keywords.

My suggestion is to create an Album for a workspace. I name mine ~ so it is always at the top of the list and easy to find. Do your search for 'water' then Select All and and drag them to your album. Now select the Album and change the Source > Look in field to Current Photos and change the search parameter to find the unwanted keywords so those photos can be removed from the Album.

It isn't the best method but it will work and it's all we've got for now. Perhaps a suggestion to add Contains Only as a condition could be made.

My previous post was a generality. In your specific case of finding those photos with "Architecture" and "London" along with those containing "Architecture" and "Rome" I would still use the ~ Album. You'll have to break the search into 2 parts. First find the London architecture images and drag them to the Album. Now search for Rome's architecture shots and drag them to the ~ Album. ~ should now contain both sets of search results.

    Tino,

When the match is set to "all of the following rules", think of this as placing the word "AND" in between the keyword search rules. In other words, in your example, the total search would only select a photo if keyword is architecture, AND keyword is London, AND keyword is Rome. This is not possible  which explains why you see no results (unless you tagged the same photo London and Rome!!).

If the match is set to "any of the following rules", think of this as placing the word "OR" in between the keyword search rules. In other words, in your example, the total search would select a photo if keyword is architecture, OR keyword is London, OR keyword is Rome. The problem now is that all photos with keywords architecture or London or Rome  would be selected, which is not what you want, because for example, you would get London photos that are not architecture selected, and architecture photos that are neither London or Rome selected.

In theory, the way to carry out your search would be to say if keyword is architecture AND (keyword is London OR keyword is Rome).  Unfortunately, in ON1 it is not currently possible to combine AND and OR selections into the same search.

I hope this now explains to you the theory behind what is happening. As Brian suggests, you need to split your search into two and build up an album with the results from both searches:

Search 1: match is set to "all of the following rules",

    keyword equals architecture

    keyword equals London

Search 2: match is set to "all of the following rules",

    keyword equals architecture

    keyword equals Rome

@Brian Lawson @ Roger Gough Thanks for the tip.
This way of working is the search to dividing into 2 parts and saving it in album. Unfortunately, this cannot be used in this way.

Why can you not use it that way? I do it all the time.

You can combine an OR search with an AND search by including the search bar at the bottom the screen. You set the OR conditions in the Advanced Search then anything put into the search bar will be ANDed to the search results.

Try searching for the two cities in the Advanced Search panel then put architecture in the search bar.
