I haven't got into pixel peeping between the two products but Resize AI does something that Gigapixel doesn't that Photoshop users may find of great benefit.
If you call Resize AI from within Photoshop it somehow manages to do the resize and retain all the Photoshop adjustment layers so that they can be changed after resizing.
Gigapixel requires a raster layer at the top of the stack and returns a new one, so that cannot readjust image afterwards.
Can take a bit of time to deal with all the layers that need resizing but technically it is most impressive.
