Custom crop ratios not shown in PR 2022.1 on MacOS 10.15.7
AnsweredAfter defining a custom crop ratio in edit mode as described on page 80 of the user guide a corresponding file is established in Library/Application Support/ON1/Common 2022/CropTool/Custom but the defined ratio is not shown in the Custom submenue at the bottom of the crop presets. The created file is not empty and contains the defined values.
Instead the Custom submenue shows only "Manage Custom Sizes..." and the window Custom Document Size Presets presents an empty table. The ratio remains hidden also after restart of PR 2022.
Due to a system crash the operating system as well as PR 2022 have been reinstalled from scratch begin of this week.
Do you have any idea on how to establish the missing link between the crop tool and the file in the application folder?

I just tested creating a custom size and it is working for me on the same Mac OS.
After the system crash last week, did you restore your user data from a backup? That may have put back into place a corrupt set of preferences for the program. I would start by using the Delete Settings command and if that does not work use the Reset ON1 Photo RAW 2022 option as described in the Knowledge Base article Delete Settings File.

PR 2022 was not the reason for the system crash and did not run at that time. The backup was created 2 days before, and in principle it should be o.k.
Nevertheless you probably touched the right topic ...
Yes, after reinstalling PR 2022 I restored my user data from the last backup. This restore however failed and stopped roughly at 3/4 of the stripe. I waited for several hours and at the end I had to quit the app via finder. Also a 2nd trial to restore from backup failed. So this may the reason for the current problem.
So I will follow your recommendations and report the result.
Thanks in advance.

Both resets did not really help. Instead another strange effect occured:
First I adjusted a crop ratio, defined it as custom ratio in the Custom Document Size Preset list and applied it to the current image.
When switching then to the next image and selecting the crop tool the crop ratio of the previous image is directly highlighted and the phrase "Manage Custom Sizes..." is shown in the tool options bar left to the fields for width and height. The Custom Submenue shows nothing except Manage Custom Sizes... and the list for the Custom Document Size Presets is empty.
So a defined custom crop ratio can be applied directly to the next images but in a new session the preset is not listed and cannot be selected. On the other hand the app knows the entry as it reports "name already used" when using the identical name for defining another custom crop ratio.

Whatever is happening is unique to your system. I am unable to reproduce the problem as you've described it. My custom crop setting is retained across multiple restarts of the program and regardless of which photo I choose to apply it to. I have created the custom crop both by setting a custom crop and creating it from that and by defining it by hand from scratch. On my system everything is working as it is supposed to.
I'm sorry, but I'm going to have to refer you to tech support for further help. If I may, screen shots showing them what you are seeing at each step in your workflow will go a lot further than just a textual description. I would also let them know that you've done both the Delete Settings and Reset functions. You might want to provide them the link to this topic so they can see what we've done.
How to submit a problem to ON1 Tech Support - A Step-by-step Guide

I will completely remove PR 2022, reinstall it from scratch and omit the restorage from PR backup. As already written this failed during reinstallation and I think that is the source of all evil.
Fortunately the effort for reinstallation is moderate as my catalogued images are stored in a clear structure.
I will report whether this solves the problem or whether the bug recurs.

It shouldn't be necessary to completely remove the program but it certainly won't hurt either.
The thing about backups is if the data that was backed up was corrupt, the restored data will also be corrupt.
Good luck, I look forward to hearing how it goes.

The whole thing was not successful. I did not deactivate the product but I removed all files and volumes containing "Photo Raw 2022" on the whole mac and deleted the ON1 volume in the Application Support. Then I downloaded a new copy of the installation file, restarted the mac and reinstalled the program.
All this did not bring any improvement. It is possible to crop an image and it is possible to create a crop file with custom defined crop sizes but these values are neither listed in the tool options bar nor are they shown in the list for managing custom crop sizes.
As you tested the topic successfully at your machine and I reinstalled the program nearly from scratch Ican only imagine that the crop data stored within the Application Support volume are not found due to a typing error in the program in combination with a German operating system.
So I assume it is a bug of the program and I will contact the ON1 Tech Support.

You can test for this being a problem with the German language implementation by changing your language setting to English. If that works you have something to tell support to help them identify the problem.

The source for the bug is nearly identified. It seems to be independent of the language chosen for the operating system but depends on the language chosen in PR 2022.
With English/English or German/English for operating system / PR 2022 custom crop ratios are listed, however only those ratios which are created with the same language combination, i.e. only a subset of crop ratios stored in the Application Support volume is shown.
Now I will stop as I have other duties but later I will further test the various combinations and contact the Tech Support hopefully with a clear description.

Thanks for letting me know Uwe. Glad you were able to find the cause and sorry it had to happen that way.
