Exported file looks different than in the editor
AnsweredI have a Nikon RAW file of a heron that I ran NoNoise AI on it, and then did some fooling around with presets before I settled on one I liked. I cropped the image and then exported it. The export gives me an image with artifacts across part of the bird, not at all what I see in the editor. The files (including the screengrab from ON1 2022 showing a good result) can be found here

UPDATE: It seems that the issue might be Facebook's own compression algorithm. The original export is 4000px square and had the odd result. An export of 1200px square looks great.

I was going to suggest the same thing because I'm not seeing it in your files. Facebook says that an export size of 2048px gives the best result.
At what point did you apply the Sun Flare? I'm not seeing that in your edited RAW file either.

The steps I did here were: 1. Crop 2. NoNoise AI 3. Sun Flare - and then I did four variations on the theme, settled on the 14-point flare and then moved its focal point. That's it. Didn't do a lot with it. Interesting that the history disappeared though. hmmmm I did look at the history before and saw that it was all there.

The History is always cleared when you leave the editor or move to a new photo while still in the editor. It only lasts as long as the current editing session for each photo.
What has me confused is why it isn't in the .on1 sidecar file. That should have brought it along for me to see. The Sun Flare Effect should be there for me to examine under the Effects tab.
Unless you have any more questions or info for me I'm going to chalk this up to Facebook's compression.

I'll chalk it up to that as well As you can see, I have it...

Did you return to the Browser to save your edits in the .on1 file before zipping everything together for me? I can see that there are edits in it and I can see the edits done in the Develop panel along with an unused Local Adjustment but none of the Effects you've added.
If you still had the photo open in the Editor that would explain why I'm not seeing them.

No. I did not. And that is another thing I have now learned :)
I see that the .on1 file is now 30Kb in size, and the one in the zip file is 19Kb.

I feel better now. 😃
