I've tried to figure this out myself.  I send a message to support and asked them. I just got this reply this morning. I'll have yet to try it. I thought clicking cancel lost the edits too, but looks like I need to experiment a bit more.

Resize should be used at the end of your workflow (see page 194 of the new user guide) If you are in resize and decide you need to do more edits you have to Cancel which will drop you back to browse and then you can then edit your original file.  When you select done all the work needed to generate the new resized file in whatever format you are choosing needs to be performed that a lot of processing that needs to happen and I would expect it to take longer than a normal export.

OK got that, resize last. However the issue is that if an image is resized after other edits, say, and then saved using Export, it will be saved to the required new size. All OK so far. It we then move to the next image to be edited this cannot be carried out without cancelling the resize, which strangely seems to apply to the new image, even though it hasn't been asked for. Only by pressing Cancel will the program go to the Edit panel. So it works, but seems awkward.

Don't save using Export. Click the Done button which saves the resized image and returns you to the Browser. You're defeating the purpose of setting up the custom Resize settings then using Export which falls back to Resize's default settings.

Just to clarify, Stevies reply above say that when you select Resize, your work is automatically saved and a new file is created for Resize. That means if you have to re-edit your image, you need to go back to the step before Resize to do it.

How do I get out of resize without saving any changes. I don't have an option. If I click on cancel it takes me back to resize.

Which program are you talking about? In Photo Raw if you click cancel from Resize you should end up back in Browse.

Photo Raw 2022, resize module from within the app. Resize does not let me get out unless I save the changes. If I cancel it keeps me in resize mode.

You can either click on the Browse button or press its hokey G. Or, go to which ever module you want to be in once you are out of Resize.

I just tried it here and when in Resize, hitting Cancel goes back to Browse. If that's not what happens for you, try Deleting the settings per this article then  try it again.

Israel, where are you when you click the Cancel button? There are multiple places where a Cancel button is available. The screenshot below is the one which will return you to the Browser.

After clicking it you'll be given a confirmation dialog that warns you will loose all your edits. If you click Cancel there you will remain in the Resize module. You can canceling the cancel if that makes sense. At this point you must click OK to leave the module.

The 3rd place you can see a Cancel button is in the File Save dialog. If you Cancel there all you are canceling is the Save operation and once again you will remain in Resize.
