Unable to update to new 2022.5
AnsweredI downloaded the new update (release date Jun 22, 2022) from my product list and when I install it, it is still the current version when it loads. Please advise

Paul, is the version number of the downloaded installer file confusing you? It is named ON1_Photo_RAW_2022.exe but does install the latest 2022.5.1 update. I really really really wish On1 would give the installer file name the version number when they do these updates. One thing I do is have my browser always ask where to save a download and then rename the file with the latest version number before I save it to my machine. I can then go to the folder where it is saved and run the latest version installer.

This is the link that I used to get 2022.5.1.

I used the link you gave me and I am still getting 2022.5 not 2022.5.1. What else should I check for on my computer. For some reason it is not accepting the new software

I there another link.....I used the link you gave me, it's the same link I used before I posted my problem.

That link works properly. You could also sign into your ON1 account and get it there.
Try clearing your cache or just try another browser. The new version is the only one attached to that link.

Is it possible that you have 2 versions of the program installed and the older version is the one that is being launched? As Rick said, only the current version will be downloaded from that link so there is something odd going on with your system.
You could try removing whatever you currently have installed. You don't have to remove everything, or use any removal scripts so your user data will stay intact; just trash any program folders for ON1 Photo RAW 2022 then run the installer again.

The installer is not a problem, I know where the new file is stored. My problem is that I use the installer and go through the installation process and when it opens it is still the old program. I tried everything to make it work. I tried using a different browser, turned off malware, etc and still no new program. Very frustrating!

What you are describing is just not possible. You cannot be downloading the same installer all of us are using and installing a different version.
Did you do as I recommended and trash your current Photo RAW 2022 program folder before running the installer?
Select the downloaded .dmg icon and post a screenshot of its Get Info dialog so we can see the build date for it. It should have a creation date of June 21, 2022. Ignore the -2 in the filename in my screenshot. I've downloaded it a couple of times and had multiple copies. This one is just the latest.

Paul, to follow up on David's point above, are you sure that the version you have installed from the link is not the most recent update? The opening screen and the "About On1" screenshot do not show 2022.5.1, they show 2022.5 but the way to tell the difference is in the version, as David says. If you see Version 12465, then you have the most recent update, which On1 confusingly refers as both 2022.5 and 2022.5.1

I checked the about On1 and its displays the old version. This situation is something I never experienced before, where I download a dmg file and it does not update. There must be something blocking the execution of the file. I been using Mac products for over 30 years and never had this problem. Thanks for all your suggestions.

When the program is running, right or control click its icon in the Dock and choose the command Options > Show in Finder. That will take you to the folder containing the running program. Is it possible the old version from a backup drive is being run?

When i used Firefox I was able to hover over the Mac link to download the dmg. This is what the link said:
ononesoft.cachefly.net/photoraw 2022/mac/gm_12429/on1_photo_raw_2022.dmg
When I hovered over the Window link, the area that had gm_12465. I think the problem is on your end

You're talking to other users here Paul, not the company. You'll have to let tech support know about the Windows link pointing to the older version.
I'm confused though, you posted this in the Mac forum but are talking about the Windows download. Which OS are you running that is showing this problem?

There are two links one for mac and the other for win. The mac link is pointing to the old version and the win link is pointing to the new version. It appears that the reason I am getting the old version on my mac is that program is not correct. The OS is 11.6.7

You're right, I confused the build numbers, sorry. I'll let the company know that link is wrong.
Have you tried updating through the program? That should get you going until the download link is fixed.

I did try to update through the program but that failed, it would not complete the download. That is the reason I was using the link found in my product list to update. This update is to me a minor fix, but would like to get the update when the company corrects the link. Thanks Brian for all your help.

I've sent an email to Kahlie. I expect it will be fixed fairly soon.
I apologize it took so long for me to see the obvious. 😁

Again, thanks for your help in this matter. I am glad we were able to find the cause of the problem (bad link address)

What has me confused now is how did I get the correct download? Hmm…

Stevie from ON1 support sent me a link and it worked. It appears that the link on product list is not correct. Problem solved on my end. Thanks
