Given up? No effort in solving the issue?

They’ve apologized, told you they are investigating the issue and offered a short term (immediate) work around of reinstalling the previous version (until they identify the problem and come up with a fix).

Bob, would you care to elaborate? Did it crash or did it hang when you tried to quit the program? What exactly happened?

Good point, Brian. Tried to close after editing a little. Nothing. Tried again and got the typical "not responding" -  wait or close message. Waited. Nothing. Then tried again and chose close.

Reopened just fine. Could not find any temp files or crash files anywhere so seemed to be a clean crash oif that makles sense.

And it also had the "please wait while we alert Microsoft of the problem".

This is a known problem and has been a problem for several releases now. Until ON1 gets it fixed all we can do is force quit the program. It doesn't seem to hurt anything to do that when the program hangs during shut down.

With so many users and so many different hardware/software configurations, it can be challenging for the software manufacturer to reproduce the issue.  The maker of another product I use (not photography related) will make a remote connection to a users computer (with the user's permission of course) and take data from various system files in an attempt to find the cause.  Typically they are successful.  It is easier than trying to configure a computer exactly the same as the few users who experience some issues.  Not sure why ON1 does not do this.  Note that I have never experience the issues mentioned in this post.

Now I'm having it crash when I'm in browser mode. Just trying to select my pictures for editing. Seems the more I use it the more unstable it's becoming. I've actually switched to my photo lab application now. I might request a refund on this because they don't really seem to care and don't really seem to be really working on it and a lot of people are having a lot of issues with it. It's sad because it's got some really nice features and can be a really nice program, albeit slow and little clunky. Definitely not something you would use for wedding work but for much smaller runs. It can be a nice application to use, but this is just a prototype state that it's in very far from being a releaseable product but they went ahead and released it anyhow.
