copy filenames to clipboard and create a selection from filenames in clipboard?
Hi,
is there a way to copy selected files, their filename with path to the clipboard? And at best also files from the clipboard as a selection to represent? If there is a possibility to address the database externally - gladly also in such a way.

The only way to copy a file name from within the program is to use the Rename command and copy it from there without actually changing it. That won't get you the path though. You'd have to do that with your OS filesystem.
The internal database is encrypted. We cannot see inside of it.

I don't believe I have a clipboard viewer, so can't verify.
If you select a number of files in Browse and choose 'copy', their filename and path should be put into the clipboard because you can go to another location and Paste those files there.
As for using the clipboard to create a selection... no. Don't believe that would be possible.
You don't need to access the database, your files aren't in there. they are only located on your drive.

Ok, I downloaded a clipboard viewer and yes, the info for the files I copied is there.

Rick Sammartino - thank you for your answers.
Of course are my files not in the database, but database know the location of all files (this was my point)Is your example with "copy" not working with default clipboard from OS (in my case Windows 11)? If I select 10 images in browse and then Menue/ copy and then try OS clipboard paste, nothing happens.

Robert, perhaps if you tell us why you want to do this, what you want to accomplish, we might be able to provide another method that would achieve that goal.

It's like this: ON1 does not support the XMP standard "Rejected, Rating=-1". There is only "don't like" in ON1. So I let all files that have "Rating=-1" write "UserFlag=2" in the XMP files. So the images in ON1 get the status "I don't like".
Unfortunately, in my management software IMatch I have 30267 images that have "Rating=-1". But in ON1 only 29978 images are shown with the status "don't like". So I am looking for a way to find out which of the files ON1 has not re-read. Rereading all files is NoGo for me. I have too many images for this and I am glad that the ON1 catalog is now much more stable than 2-3 years ago.0 -
Robert, the OS knows what you're copying. If you copy a file then you have to paste a file, The name of the file is still in the clipboard, you just can't directly paste that as text. If this is what you need, you'll have to find a way to intercept the clipboard.
Frankly, it's not a good way to do it. If it were me, I'd use iMatch to find all of your -1's and then assign an additional rating to it that On1 does recognize instead of -1.

If it were me, I'd use iMatch to find all of your -1's and then assign an additional rating to it that On1 does recognize instead of -1. Or, apply a new keyword to them so that Photo RAW can easily find them all at once for you. You can delete the keyword once the conversion is done.

Thank for your response.
Well I leave it just as it is. The best thing would be, ON1 would finally adhere to the standard and not cook their own soup in all corners. ON1 Photo RAW is not alone in the world

No, Photo RAW is not alone in the world but those features are not universally standard either. They are Adobe standard.
It would be nice if they were recognized. Sounds like a good suggestion for the Photo RAW Project page.😁

Brain, this "They are Adobe standard." is not correct. Rating= -1 (Rejected) is XMP standard not Adobe standard :P
Some weeks ago I asked question by support. The answer was - we will implement it eventually, but we have no timeline for this.
I look for and need programs that can be integrated into a workflow and programs that don't, I don't use at all or only if there is no other way. ON1 will probably be one of the last.
