Try using the Save Metadata command to have the info written to an .xmp file that other software can read it from.

But isn’t a .xmp file just another sidecar file? Would result in same situation, separate .xmp and image file and the added EXIF will be lost.

It’s not a big deal I can continue using Bridge to add the data, same workload just different App. Just want to ensure I’ve understood the situation correctly.

It has been my understanding that when you export an image, metadata including exif data added in Photo Raw such as captions, description, keywords etc is written to the image file where it can be read by other photo apps without referring to sidecars (for jpgs). You can also embed the metadata (write it to the image file) for jpgs by using the Embed Metadata function.

Richard that’s an interesting comment, re exporting the image. Off to test that out. Many thanks👍

[W]hen you export an image, metadata including exif data added in Photo Raw such as captions, description, keywords etc is written to the image file… That is optional now. We have the ability to tell the program whether to include it or not. We can also choose what should be included and what should be omitted.
