2023 Tack Sharp question/problem

Installed 2023 and using in Browse (have not yet let it see my cataloged disk).

This is after a reinstall and settings deletion was done after the problem first presented.

Brought in some RAW files and opened in browse. The photo I was trying needs sharpening from missed focus (not extreme, but noticeable). Also noisy (high ISO Sony a7rii 41Mp).

I try what it needs: Both. File churns away for a ~2minutes on my M1 13inch MBP OS11.7. Preview shows no change. I try applying and the resulting photo still shows no effect. 

Then tried No Noise alone, generally same effect as 2022. Just fine.

Then tried Tack Sharp alone, churns for ~1.5 minutes and shows no effect.

Same result after uninstalling, reinstall, and setting delete.

Suggestions?

  I have the same problem. NoNoise seems to work fine but Tack Sharp is extremely slow. 

  I have 16 gb of RAM and a Raedon Graphics card with 8gb.

  Rick,

  I tried the things you suggested including a re-install. GPU driver is current. No speed improvement with Tack Sharp.

  NoNoise is fast and actually does a nice job of sharpening with less artifact than tack sharp.

  Topaz Photo AI does a nice job and is a little better with noise reduction than NoNoise. It is less aggressive with sharpening than Tack Sharp so less artifact. It is slower than NoNoise by itself but faster than Tack Sharp.
