PR2023 crash with Portrait Magic presets
PR2023 crashes consistently if I have the Portrait Magic preset pane showing and try to open an image in edit mode when the image isn’t a portrait - I guess it’s failing when it’s trying to show the preset previews. I need to choose any portrait image, go into Edit and migrate away from the Portrait Magic pane, then go back to my original non portrait image in order to work on it.
Startup bug report submitted to ON1 for several images.
Also finding the full image preview of presets temperamental and slow - sometimes it will preview as you mouse over presets, sometimes it doesn’t appear to.
I’m feeling this initial release is a bit more buggy than previous annual upgrades…
I agree, worse, for me the software is completely unusable, yesterday after installation of PR 2023 it blew up my whole windows Graphic settings, I couldn't even change any display settings, my screen is normally 2560 x 1440, now it is 1024 x 768 but i can't reset this (section in settings greyed out – see picture below) nor i can't install any adrenalin driver again because of Error 207 (AMD software was successfully installed but windows discovered a problem with your graphic device – see picture below) so I spent the whole night reinstalling my windows 11. And even with fresh installation there were the same problems.
To prove to you that I have learned something I bought today the O&O Diskimage so that I no longer need the whole night to reset my pc.
am very disappointed!
Windows 11 22h2
CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 5900X
GPU: AMD PowerColor RX 6700 XT Red Devil
RAM: 32 GB
SSD: 2x Samsung 980 Pro 1 TB
Concerning drivers and updates, I can assure you that there is no pc in the world that is as up to date as mine0
I'm having the same problem with my windows 10 laptop intermittent crashes. I agree this version is very buggy and unstable. I have a Nvidia gtx1060 video with latest driver update, 16GB system memory. The program will all of a sudden crash it looks like it as to do with adaptive presets.0
the soft is unusable I am under win 110
Stanford, there is a known problem with NVIDEA cards. ON1 is in contact with them and we are awaiting driver updates for their cards.
Marc S, installing Photo RAW did not change your system settings. This is why after every major upgrade Windows users have to configure their graphics drivers and OS settings to allow the new version to take advantage of them. If the installer could configure those settings that step would not be necessary.
rblanc13, you haven't provided enough information for anyone to begin to offer help.0
ON my PC I open the soft and when I want to edit a file the soft crushes
I cannot say anymore because I have no message0
"This is why after every major upgrade Windows users have to configure their graphics drivers and OS settings to allow the new version to take advantage of them"
well, for me PR 2023 is then the first programm i want to install where i have to configure my OS settings and graphics card for.
as i installed it on a fresh win 11 22h2 shouldn't it work fine then,?
please tell me than what do i have to configure?
txs for your help0
same problem here, and then i open again, try again to edit a file and then the screen turns black, i have to push reset button because the pc is not reacting anymore (stays complte black, even ctrl- alt delete is doing nothing) and then my pc is messed up0
Here’s a Knowledge Base article on getting things set up for Photo RAW.
ok txs for the link brian it will give it a try and inform about the results0
i have followed the instructions, also i have reset the settings of my graphics card to factory settings but unfortunately without success. now when i open PR 2023 and click on any image for editing PR 2023 ends within a second. i don't know what to do now0
and again (for the third time) my windows 11 system crashed. even if you don't want to admit it here ("Marc S, installing Photo RAW did not change your system settings"). i clicked on a PNG image in the library, then the screen went black and it stayed that way. i had to restart the pc via reset and after that my screen settings were at 1024x768 (normally my pc is at 2560x1440). i can't change this in my windows anymore, also i can't install a new driver. (as already described above)
luckily this time i made a diskimage with O&O Diskimage which i bought this week and everything was back to normal within 20 minutes. I hope that the problems will be solved quickly.
