    1) That circle will be highlighted when you have selected a photo in the Browser to which that keyword has been applied. You can apply or remove that Keyword to a selected photo by clicking the circle. See page 42 in the User Guide for more info.

    2) No, just move it out of the way or you can Select All on the Search Results and move those images into an Album. I keep one named ~ (so it appears at the top of the list for easy access) to use as a temporary work space for this kind of thing.

Quite strange. I wish I could just press the x in the corner and remove the window, without any workaround. Hope ON1 tech people find a decent solution.

Alex, in the past I thought the same thing about the search pane but once you get use to dragging it out of the way (I drag it down with just the very top of it showing at the bottom of my screen) it won't bother you anymore. It is handy to drag it back up to further delineate your search.

Old thread, but as new user, I find this behaviour (#2) really annoying. I have an album of over 900 photos, all now tagged with keywords. I wanted to just view all the ones with a particular keyword so that I could compare them all to further refine and decide which ones to do further editing on. Having to have the Advanced Search window "active" somewhere is not a great solution, imho. Often doing actions on a photo causes me to have to do the search again. I would prefer to have searches available as a "view" on a selection.

Don't forget that 2024 has completely redesigned the Advanced Search interface. Go watch the sneak peak videos for 2024.

Thanks Brian. I had a look at the What's New in 2024 video and I'm unclear if this situation will change for keyword searches. It looks like it is taking away the big window for searches related to metadata, ratings, stars, etc, but not clear on keywords.

I really hope it does! I'm currently working through over 900 photos from a week in safari, putting in keywords for images for various animals. So now I'm wanting to just view all the "baboons" so I can compare them all and find the best ones. The current search doesn't really support this. Unless I'm doing something wrong?
