Jpg loading issue

I guess there must be different types of JPGS images because some of my JPGS load and others load and the program crashes instantly.  This does NOT happen with PNGs.

Have not tried other image typs.

  Do those JPGs already have edits on them? If so, can you open the JPG without the edits? (You would have to copy the JPG without its sidecar to another folder to try this)

  Are all of these JPGs color files? Photo Raw doesn't support greyscale files.
