AI masking oddity
I have just bug reported this.
When trying out one of the Adaptive Presets it was obvious that the masking of a LUT was wrong. The preset added two filters, one to apply to the motor bikes that were the subject and the other to the background.
The bike mask was acceptable, it was the background mask that was way out.
In testing I found that if I selected the same element when adding a filter, transport in this case, in Paint In mode that the acceptable mask was produced. Doing the same but selecting Paint Out mode produced the bad mask.
Copying and pasting the mask in place of the bad mask, and then inverting produced a good mask for the background.
So if you are having trouble with masks it may be worth trying to select everything other than the element/elements, create the mask in opposite Paint In/Out mode and then invert it.

I noticed the same thing when selecting a person in one of my photos. Using Pain In didn't produce a "bad" mask, but the edges weren't clean. It made me bald. So I tried again and selected the background . This gave me a nice mask with just a small hint of halo in a couple places which I easily removed with the chisel brush.
