Mask AI issues
Hello,
1) When I get a mask via AI tool (left panel) or add filter (right panel), I don't want to add any adjustment, only keep the mask as a new layer or something like that; but I can't. What I am missing ?
2) Here are a mask (persons) seeming quite good and the mask when applied an adjustment, for your eyes I choose fill gray, you can see the mask is not useful, head of the boy and some parts are not filled in gray, what's wrong ?
3) I can't move some panels (in this example adjustments), so when choosing in the list(s) the photo is hidden and I can have any look to the preview.
(Sorry for my english)

If you want a mask created without automatically applying any settings you can add a Local Adjustment or one of the Effects as we always have, then go to the Mask Options and choose the AI mask you want.

Thanks. That don't explains anyway the difference between selected persons and adjustment not "adjusted" at the AI mask, the lacking zones are so big (head, shoes...). I think A is not so I !

You're right, it doesn't. That's because I don't have an answer for that question except to say the company knows about this and is working to improve it.
If you want to help you can send a copy of your raw file to tech support so it can be used to better train the AI engine. You'll have to put it on a web sharing site and send the download link in your support request. Tell them you're offering it for their use.

I thought I would like this Super Select from all the demos I saw before the release of 2023. However I am disappointed and feel it was not ready for release. It's just hit and miss with Super Select. I sure hope in the very near future they get Super Select where it can actually work the way we were led to believe it would.
For now I plan to keep using Lightroom Classic (auto masking works) and ON1 as a plugin.
One thing I have noticed I don't have to use Force Quit when exiting ON1 as that issue seems to have been fixed.
Cheers,
Stu

While I understand there is a learning curve for a new AI feature and I never expect a perfect mask, I do wish the hyped up previews could have been a little more honest. From all the "incredible" reviews I saw on YouTube using a prerelease version, I expected the AI to be a lot more advanced than it is. I think there would be a lot fewer complaints if the reviews had been more up front about the limitations.

I agree with Gordon and Gilles, in terms of the limitations and poor performance of Super Select AI.
As mentioned, based on the "incredible" reviews on Youtube, I was expecting a more mature product.
Having used this for about 1 week, I have come to the conclusion that Super Select AI is a waste of time for me.
I have resorted to using the Mask brush (B) with the Perfect Brush enabled. That seems to give much better results.
Coming from a different software (Corel Paintshop Pro which many people consider rather primitive, erroneously), I admit that my expectations have not been met.
I just loaded the first update this afternoon. I am running a stand alone version of PhotoRaw 2023.
My system is Windows 10 with i-7820, SSD drive, Nvidia Quadro M1200 with 32 GB Ram.
The failure of Super Select is only one of the let downs of ON1 software. I will post another message to the forum on the other issues.
This is disappointing .....
