Cant edit Black and white photos in tif format
AnsweredI am scanning in black and white negatives but if i use grayscale 16bit image type ON1 cant read the images.
Example image: https://imgur.com/a/OHbQg49
The specs of the scan is
4800 dpi resolution
16 bit, bit depth
Format. TIF
I can fix it by scaning the images in 24 or 48 bit color, but this triples the size of the files.
I am scanning the images on an epson v600 using epson scan. So it might be an issue with how the software formats B&W images.

Photo RAW works only with images in one of the RGB colorspaces. Greyscale images are not supported. This is understandable when you consider that RAW files (what Photo RAW was designed around) are never greyscale. It isn't an issue with how your scanning software is producing the B&W files.

In some other program You can convert the greyscale images into RGB colorspace and the On1 Photo RAW will then work with them.

One App that can do it is FastStone Image Viewer.
Select the file to convert. Select File/Save As
Click on Options
and select RGB in Photometric
