Thanks to David K - yep I figured that for a work around but its just as easy to download the photos to a local drive and proceed to edit from there which makes a link to Google Drive in the Cloud ...

Brian Many thanks for info good to know. Well the 'Auto' levels tool either works correctly and reliably or On1 is useless to me.
