This is the 'official' way to deinstall On1: 1. Go to the Applications/ON1 Photo RAW 2020/Documentation folder. 2. Double-click on the Remove ON1 Photo RAW 2020 application.

Another reason might be the process of re-indexing your catalogued folders. That really slows down the performance. in my case.
